We had a great time with Priscilla and Sammy. She took us under her wing. This was especially important since my husband had recently gotten out of Durango hospital after a two day unexpected illness. She made sure that he had everything he needed. One night when we arrived later than expected she called to make sure that we were okay. She didn't mind it when we stayed in a day and just relaxed with the TV. The house provided a lot of privacy when we wanted it. Her house is nicely laid out for having airbnb guests. She is on the first floor and we stayed on the second. We were able to put food in her refrigerator/freezer and use her microwave as well as washer and dryer.
We love staying at Pricilla's home. It's so comfortable and she always makes us feel like family.
Priscilla is an Airbnb Superhost and after staying there, I would say it is well deserved. Her place is very clean and the bedroom has a great view into the trees and beyond to the mountains. Also, there is a table and 2 chairs on the deck off the guest room. Plus Priscilla is very personable and friendly. She let me use her washer and dryer which was a big help to me. Also, being the former longtime owner of a coffee shop / bookstore in town, the coffee she offered us in the morning was not surprisingly, delicious. Check out the giant fern she has at the front door too, you can't miss it. Her house is located in town, a short distance from places to eat, we would highly recommend Kate's Place restaurant for breakfast, 2 blocks away. Finally, she always communicated with me in a timely manner regarding any questions I had about the room, prior to our arrival. Her place is also convenient for a day trip to Telluride (which we did), or the million dollar highway. I would highly recommend her place to other guests.
We loved our stay with Priscilla. She was the perfect host. Her home is lovely....so welcoming, warm, beautiful and restful. We arrived just as the Denver Bronco game was starting and were prepared to check in and leave to go to a sports bar to watch the game. Instead, she immediately turned on her TV and sat down and we all watched the game together. That was how the entire stay continued. We felt like we became part of her family. Our daughter and granddaughter were welcomed to visit. Our room was so comfortable and the view was spectacular. Ridgeway is such a diverse village and the views are breathtaking. Priscilla knows the village, the people and the area and can help and make suggestions for any activity that one might want to do. We hope Priscilla will have her room available whenever we visit Ridgeway and our daughter and granddaughter, as we have found our favorite mountain "home away from home"
I had some last-minute change of plans, so I emailed Priscilla with faint hope, but to my surprise, she responded in minutes saying my room was ready. The neighborhood is a low-key, kind of old-fashioned Colorado, with lovely yards and a quiet, safe ambiance.
She showed me to my room upstairs with a private deck and bathroom. Everything was clean, lovely and obviously recently remodeled. It was quiet and I had as much privacy as I wanted although we quickly became good friends.
I filled my days with local adventures but Priscilla always started my day off with good coffee and scones or muffins (she used to own the local coffee joint.)
I can't wait to return with my spouse for a more extended stay.
Priscilla's home was like a home away from home and the experience could not have been better.
Communicating with Priscilla prior to our stay was awesome and she even kept me updated on weather conditions (they were improving!) before our stay.
We enjoyed her lovely room and spent some time lounging in the sun on our private balcony. We appreciated all of the information on Ridgway and Ouray in the room, including visitor's guides, restaurant guides, and even postcards.
We loved her muffins (homemade!) and really appreciated her getting coffee ready for us in the morning. All we had to do was hit "go!" She was so fun to chat with and we felt right at home.
I WILL stay with Priscilla next year, as we are making an annual trip to the area. We fell in love!
Priscilla made us feel so welcome, our arrival was like coming 'home'. Our room was exactly as described, and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Communication was easy, and Priscilla's knowledge of the area and recommendations were spot-on. It was a pleasure to meet such a delightful host in such congenial surroundings. Ridgway was an unknown to us previously. It really is a well-kept secret, and a real jewel in southern Colorado.
I'm the creator and former owner of Cimarron Books and Coffeehouse, a thriving business in our quaint little town of Ridgway for 22 years. Since selling I have started this new adventure. I enjoy my quiet little town, my morning walks, gardening, films, music, our good restaurants, get togethers with my friends and my sweet 4 legged furry friend, Sammy.
Do the right thing..is my motto.
