Everything was great! The location is as good as it gets .The 45 and 47 bus are each within a minutes walk and there are at least 6 really good restaurants within a 5 minute walk.
The apartment was well equipped with a great kitchen and the pullout bed in the sitting room worked really well for our 12 year old grand daughter.
Fantastic! Linda's daughter, Liz, was very helpful upon check in, very professional and well organized. The place is a San Francisco gem. Great location off of Van Ness and three blocks up (and I mean UP) to the Hyde Street Cable Car. A bus runs regularly on Union, so that's no problem. The apartment is well furnished and very clean with a comfortable sofa bed in the living room and a great bed in the bedroom. We're looking forward to staying here again.
This place was awesome. The hosts were super friendly and the place was very clean. I would definitely stay here again!
The location is great! We were lucky enough to find parking on the street every night. The home is so cozy.
Top!! Very Nice and spacious and very friendly! Great beds and stores nearby! Polk-street has great (veggie-) stores but also lots of restaurants. Unfortunately the public transportation was on strike (more than 60% was taken ill) so the famous cable-trams didn't drive so it was tough for us, Dutchies, only used to flat terrain, to walk around, but really an top-location!! Reception by Linda or one of her relatives was great and we could knock on the door of her appartment (the other side of the hall) whenever we needed anything. The rooms were very clean, kitchen is fully equipped for "home-preps" and therefore also usefull for longer visits!! We'll certainly will try to book our next visit at Russian Hill at Lindas' again!
Even though we never met her Linda was always very prompt answering any question that we had and was very patient in re-emailing me crucial information when I had accidentally deleted it. Her daughter's husband met us to let us in and was very pleasant, offering great walking suggestions. The location is fantastic, so many amazing restaurants are nearby and the bus runs right past the location. The apartment was very clean and was so pretty. The kitchen is very cute and has everything you could possibly need for cooking. We would stay there again in an instant. Parking is really hard to find AND remember that parking tickets are very pricey. If we had been staying just in SF we wouldn't have bothered with a car.
This place was perfect! It was easy to find (we didn't take public transportation so I can't vouch for that) and in such a great location. We walked all around the area and just loved it. The apartment itself is just beautiful with its quintessential bay windows that lets in the perfect amount of light. It's comfortable, clean and just an all around great place to stay. I highly recommend this apartment and Linda. She, and her daughter, were very easy to work with. I want to go back!
I can't say enough great things about this apartment. Linda (email hidden), even greeting us very late on a Friday night after our flights into SFO were delayed. The apartment was roomy and we had more than enough space for 4 people. It was incredibly well located, only a few steps away from public transport and cafes, etc. The wharf area was just down the hill. The bathroom was spotless, and even had shampoo, conditioner, etc. If I come back to San Francisco, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!!
I stayed in this very roomy and comfortable apartment for 9 days. The apartment was clean and very well supplied with everything I needed. The location is excellent as it is in a few minutes walking distance of all transport. Despite it being on a busy street it was very quiet. As well it is not a long walk from places such as Lombard Street and Fisherman's Walk.
Restaurants and supermarkets are very close by. This apartment was a pleasure to return to after each day.
We had a wonderful couple of days at Linda's place. Great location, very convenient to bus, streetcard, cabs, you name it. You are far enough away from the super-busy areas, but still close enough for a quick bus ride right into the heart of the waterfront areas. There are some cool little coffee shops and restaurants in the area, if you want to stay close.
The apartment itself is great. Very clean and spacious. The kitchen is fantastic, with lots of space and utensils, and a cool little table for eating snacks or meals. Linda lives right across the hall, so if you need anything (we needed an extra blanket), they are right there to help.
One suggestion I would make to anyone bringing a car and staying for a while, is to park your card in an area garage. There are not any super-close, but we found a great garage about 2 minutes down the road by bus (the buses come all the time), and we left our car there for more than 2 days, and it only cost $50. You definitely will need a garage at some point, if you're staying for a bit, because the parking spaces on the street are hard to find.
Overall, we had a great time, and I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in SF. Can't beat it!
