Interaction with Guests
We love meeting people from all over the world, so are always happy to chat. We are also happy to give you suggestions of places to visit.
We live in an upmarket part of Torquay called Wellswood. It's very quiet with a country feel, yet you not far away from the harbourside with a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. Guests love the fact that both beaches and coastal paths are within walking distance. Wellswood Village has teas shops, restaurants, pub and grocery shops, and is only a few minutes walk away.
Also you don't need a car to get around, but it can be useful for trips to places like Dartmoor, Dartmouth and Salcombe.
It's easy to get around by public transport, and there are buses to lots of places, including Dartmoor. The train station is a short bus ride away. We are in walking distance of the town and many local attractions.
Other Things to Note
We welcome couples of any orientation.
Individual Yoga tuition is available..
Dinner may be offered, subject to availability, at additional cost.
We expect our visitors to treat our home with respect. Smoking is not allowed in the house. Guests cannot invite others to the house or garden. Please note we do not allow children or pets.
Same as previous review - a greta location for Torquay
This was my first experience with Airbnb and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Jacquie and Kevin are great hosts; they made me feel really welcome and at home. The bedroom is comfy. The house is well-placed for exploring Torquay and the beaches on foot.
We had a lovely weekend staying here whilst exploring the English Riviera! Jacquie and Kevin were incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home. There were lots of really nice extra touches too like fluffy bath robes and delicious home made porridge for breakfast that made our short time there extra special.
My sister and I stayed with Jacquie and Kevin for one night but could have easily stayed longer. Their house is cosy and the room is lovely, just like in the photos (the garden is really pretty, and the guest house also seems very nice). They were great hosts, very welcoming and helpful. I can definitely recommend this to everyone! :) Thank you, Jacquie and Kevin, for making our stay so great!
It was really good to stay there, and enjoyed good chat with house owner. We would like to visit there once again. Thank you very much!
Jacquie is a lovely host! We had to checked very late and she managed to receive us with a great smile. Breakfast was very nice specially the conversation with Jacquie. Beautiful garden too. Thanks Jacquie!
Thank You so much for leaving a review. We very much enjoyed meeting you both. I'm really glad you enjoyed your breakfast. Thank you too for your lovely comments about my garden. It is looking especially beautiful at the moment with lots of Poppies, Delphiniums and Lupins in flower. A Bientot. Jacquie
Hello Jacquie and Kevin! I made it back safe and sound. Thank you so much for everything. I very much enjoyed my stay with you in your lovely house. You were extremely hospitable (and this means a lot coming from a Greek!) and made me feel at home right from the start. Thank you for all your tips on walking/ running routes, for your great driving directions (and the provision of a very helpful map); and thank you for your company. Good luck with your other lined up visitors. I will be in touch if I need to come to the area for more work.
Dear Elphida; Thank You for your heart felt review. We loved having you. It was like having one of the family come to stay! Good luck with your studies. The Globe room will be waiting for you if you come back to the area in the future. All the best and thanks again. Jacquie
