Description

The Space

Our home is a quiet gem, a retreat in the East Bay of San Francisco, The rich of East Richmond Heights, 30-70 minutes from most everywhere you'd like to be, depending on traffic. Take a drive to The Wine Country, a top Zagat rated restaurant in Port Costa, UC Berkeley, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Mt Diablo and return to quiet home away from home, for a rest.

This is rental for a room in our house, where we live, along with Henry, our most friendly labrador. In this room we can accommodate 2-3 people (depending on size and comfort), families are welcome. One bed is a queen bed and the other is a single futon on the floor. It is cozy but doable.
See other listing/rooms at this address: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1781201 for up to 5 people, https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5948132 for up to 2 people.
There is also a possibility of renting the whole house: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7023503. Please contact me before booking to be sure both rooms or house is available and to make arrangements.

This is truly a retreat among Heritage Oaks, sometimes deer in the yard or on the road, wild turkey and close to most everywhere you'd want to visit in the Bay Area.

This is a place you have to visit to know, see and feel the rest and beauty that are here.
It is a retreat you won't forget.

Guest Access

You will have access to our shared kitchen, a washer and dryer, the grounds outside, Henry our chocolate lab and lots of Bay Area info.

Interaction with Guests

You are welcome to come and go as you please. If you would like info or conversation we are available. If you want solitude and quiet, you got it. Coffee, tea, and toast are available.

We are a family of foodies and the Bay Area is loaded with great eats that we can tell you all about.

We can allow pets with an additional fee which we will be set based on length of stay and pet. Please inquire first. Thank you.

Often folks arrive in the late afternoon or evening, tired and hungry from travel. If arranged in advance, we can provide dinner at additional cost. Please inquire.

The Neighborhood

East Richmond Heights is an undiscovered part of the Bay Area. It is tree lined, quiet, and friendly. It feels like a little Yosemite.
You are a walk or bike ride to WildCat Canyon Park for great hikes and picnics, a 5 mile walk or bike ride to Tilden Park, Berkeley, where there is a petting zoo, merry-go-round, steam train and hiking.

Craneway Pavilion is about 15 minutes away, a place for events like Pema Chodron, quilt shows, etc. Also the site for the WWII Rosie The Riveter Museum. All in an old auto plant, wonderful architecture and on the Bay.

Getting Around

There is an AC Transit bus to Berkeley, a BART station is about a 15 minute drive from here, but like most of the Bay Area, and you'll need a car unless you are an avid bicyclist.

Other Things to Note

Yes, we do have a dog. ;) A very friendly and sweet dog.

Because we are in the hills, Verizon works best here. You also have access to our WiFi. No one has really had a problem with this.

So there is East Richmond Heights, Point Richmond, Richmond Annex and Richmond. We are in the most beautiful of the 4, which is East Richmond Heights. Point Richmond is a very interesting and cute village, on the Bay. Richmond Annex has the Pacfic East Mall where there are lots of Asian Restaurants, stores and a great place for a foot/body massage at a great price. Richmond has the wonderful Craneway Pavillion, hosting events like the SF Symphony and Pema Chrodon. It is a wonderful building, the old Ford Plant, right on the Marina which also houses Assemble Restaurant and The Rosie the Riveter WWII Museum.
