My husband and I live in a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment right off of Abbot Kinney, a 5 minute walk to the Venice Canals and a 10 minute walk to the beach. We've sublet several times before and are very welcoming hosts. We've got wifi, cable with DVR, a dishwasher, a spacious fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, and bikes you can borrow. We also have fish and a cat, so people with allergies (to cats, not to fish) will not be happy here. We don't have a very big garden but we DO have a hammock which is very relaxing.
No smoking inside the house, no pets and no noisy late nights during the week. My husband works with autistic children during the day and I work as a bartender several nights a week. During the day, I am here, working on my writing, so will be available if you need advice, directions, suggestions of places to eat, etc.
The room is small, but serves it's purpose, and the queen sized futon sleeps two comfortably (we have slept in it ourselves for a week and almost didn't want to return to our own bed). There is also closet space and drawers.
No smoking inside.
I had such a warm welcome from both Megan and Simon even though it was almost midnight and after a delayed flight from the UK.
They were so helpful throughout my stay, respectful of my 'space' and sharing theirs in a generous way. Their home is really convenient for shops and beach and also for local bus routes. A great little haven that I hope I can visit again.
We stayed in the room for 5 nights with Simon. It was great. Great location and Simon was really friendly. In addition we could used the bicycles therefore it was only 5 minutes to Venice Beach.
We had a wonderful stay at Megan's house. Megan and Simon made us feel very welcome. They had suggestions about what to do and really helped us whenever we had questions. They invited us to do things with them, helped us discover some local things to do. We really appreciated spending time with them. Plus the house si really well located, and Megan and Simon lend us their bikes. We highly recommand this place.
We're from LA... well, not originally. My husband is British and I've lived all over. We love hiking, biking, eating, cooking, and just relaxing. I'm a screenwriter and my husband is a behavioral therapist for autistic kids. We're pretty easy going.
