About This Listing
2 minute walk from Plaza Catalunya. One bed studio apartment, all to yourself. I have been doing this since 2008, so you are in safe hands. Can sleep 3 people. No deposit. Checkin flexible, lets discuss!
The apartment is a designer jewel, newly renovated and furnished with 20thC modern classics by Le Corbusier, Eileen Gray, and Phillipe Starck. Contemporary works by American and European artists complement the decor. Distinctive structural ironwork by Barcelona craftsmen contrasts with the 19thC hand-painted, beamed ceiling. Carrer dels Tallers, a pedestrian street that crosses the northern most part of the Old City of Barcelona, begins at the famous Ramblas just below Plaza Catalunya and ends at the Plaza de la Universidad. Tallers has been described as the most characteristic street of the North Raval Barrio. Just around the corner is the sleek new Museum of Contemporary Art designed by Richard Meier. Galleries, boutiques, cafes and restaurants complement the many traditional shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. The area is becoming Barcelona's equivalent of New York's Soho, and was recently described by La Vanguardia as 'the emerging neighbourhood in Barcelona'.

Interaction with Guests
In some very rare circumstances, I myself may not be there to check you in. Generally this is if I am traveling for work. I will always be available by email and I am as hands-on or off as you want me to be.
Food is great. Both eating out and quality ingredients for cooking at home. I have a document with the places I love which I share with you once you arrive.
I suggest you get the aerobus when you get out of the terminal. Take this to the city and get off at the stop Plaza Universitad. From here you are a 5 minute walk to the apartment and in case you have problems finding the street when you get off the bus, ask for calle Tallers.
If you are coming by car, there is a large public car park on our street (calle tallers).
No rules as such, just a few things that I would appreciate.
Trash can be taken out to dumpsters in front of the building.
Late at night be respectful of neighbors etc.
Be conscious of security and always be be sure to lock terrace and apartment door.
Smoking on the terrace only please.
Conserve energy when possible, there's no need to heat an empty apartment, it heats up quickly.
Eoin's brother, Tom, very graciously waited for us as flight was two hours late in arriving even though we were unable to text him about our delay. Although late for a meeting, he took the time to explain everything we needed to know about the apartment and the area. His list of recommendations was very helpful as this was our first time in Barcelona.
The listing was exactly as pictured and described - nothing more, nothing less.
We had a lovely stay at Eoin and Tom's airbnb. We could check in late at night and leave our luggage with our hosts for the last day before flying back which was very convenient.
The flat could not be more central, was very clean and the bed comfortable (would not have been better in a hotel). Tom (Eoin's brother) welcomed us and was very helpful and flexible for us.
We would definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for a central location, you can easily explore both southern and northern sides by foot from there!
Thanks Tom & Eoin!
Eoin è' stato puntuale e preciso, l'appartamento è veramente in zona centrale, quindi molto comodo per visitare barcellona in tutta libertà, è' pulito e semplice! Consiglio a tutti! Grazie eoin
Beautiful apartment in an unbeatable location. You can literally get to Placa de Catalunya from the door of the apartment in less than five minutes. The supermarket is also located not too far away.
The house itself is very comfortable, and despite the location, it was relatively quiet. In the early hours of the night a group walked past making a lot of noise but it was greatly muffled due to the windows.
Eoin also recommended us a great restaurant as well as provided us with things to look out for while in Barcelona. All in all, a great place to stay!
This apartment was one of our favorite places we stayed in while my girlfriend and I spent two weeks traveling Spain. The apartment is pictured very accurately and was perfect for our time in Barcelona. It was very clean when we arrived and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and welcome for our stay. The bed was very comfortable, the balconies offered great natural sunlight as well as a nice view of the street below and as you can tell my the pictures the apartment is very well put together which made settling in very easy.
Eoin was a great host and went the extra mile to make sure we got into the apartment when we arrived. We got into Barcelona much later then we originally expected, but Eoin was very laid back and great to communicate with which made it easy for us to get our keys.
The neighborhood was very lively and has a ton a shops, restaurants, and bars close by. The area always seemed to be crowded with people, but my girlfriend and I really enjoyed the scene the neighborhood attracted. The busy streets did make the apartment challenging to find at first, so I would recommend not arriving on a Friday or Saturday night like we did, but once we figured out where the apartment was it was very easy navigate to and from. The liveliness of the neighborhood did result in some loud nights, but for the most part by about 2am the streets died down enough to not be a problem.
Overall the apartment was exactly what we wanted for our trip and we would definitely stay here again.
Great apartment in excellent location. Two blocks from Placa de Catalunya (easy airport bus from there is only $7). Five minute walk to Barri Gotic (the old neighborhood). Five minute cab/subway ride to Sagrada Familia or lovely 20 minute walk. Lots of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood but it quiets down at night. Shower was hot with plenty of pressure. Eoin's brother Tom met us exactly on time and emailed with us the whole time we were there with resto recommendations, airport bus info, etc. If you're interested, ask Tom about the Spanish wine he is exporting. He may sell you a bottle at a discount.
