The Neighborhood

The apartment is located in the Oud West area of the city, which is hip and trendy, full of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops; the well known Ten Kate Market with over 100 stalls is located just around the corner.

Amsterdam's renowned Jordaan district, known for its canals lined with cafes and boutiques is about 15 minutes walk or 4 minutes by tram which stops nearby.
"Leidseplein" the city's night life area you can be reached by foot in less than 15 minutes.

Getting around

With a tram stop around the corner the city center and the airport are easy to reach.
Unfortunately parking is quite expensive in our neighborhood, but if you don't need your car during your stay I can recommend you cheaper places on the border of town.
If you are interested in renting a bicycle during your stay let me know. I can have them delivered to the houseboat for you.

  • Our stay on the Houseboat Ripple was exactly what we were after. The accommodation was excellent - some of the comfiest beds we've ever slept in! - and the location perfect. We wanted somewhere a little out of the centre, not too busy, because we were two families travelling with young children. The area around "Ripple" was perfect for us: only a five minute walk to Vondelpark and within minutes of the tram into the city. There is a small playground just around the corner and, on the days we were there, a market. There are shops and supermarkets within a very short walk, so it is easy to get everything you need, but if you want to get into town you can easily do that too. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back when we get the chance.

  • Since the reservation process until our arrival everything was easy and professional.
And when we got there the houseboat was better than described. It was clean and has everything you think you might need. Very spacious and confortable. I can´t say enough great things about the houseboat and you can go wherever you want by foot (great location for us).
And Annelies was always ready to answer about anything we need, even if she was shopping.
    Thanks for the experience.
We surely will stay in Ripple houseboat when we get back to Amsterdam.

  • I stayed in Ripple with my family for three nights because we wanted to experience this unique Amsterdam style of living. The houseboat was just as great as it was promised to be. The neighborhood was nice and quiet but still had some restaurants and stores.
Annelies was an extremely helpful and friendly host and our family would higly recommed her!

  • Houseboat Ripple (email hidden) to stay, it had everything you needed and great coffee! It was peaceful and quiet and we were lucky enough to have nice weather so we even sat outside. Travel to the centre of Amsterdam is very easy with the tram system, takes about 15 minutes at most.

  • I can't say enough great things about the houseboat and Annelies. The houseboat was just as described. It was so close to everything that we just walked everywhere. Annelies was great as well, she always responded quickly to all questions and even gave me some tips on things to go see. I would definitely say book here, you won't be disappointed.

  • If you go to Amsterdam, you'll surely see some Houseboats along some of the canals and will wonder how great it would be to stay in one of those. My recommendation is: do it! Stay in one! The Houseboat Ripple was just an amazing experience not just for me but for all of the 6 of us who stayed there. The feeling of seeing the water just outside all the windows, seeing boats pass by, being approached by the ducks and geese all day long is just amazing! The neighborhood is nice and calm: you get to see the day-by-day life of the city, it has everything you may need and still be very close to the city center, park, museums and great restaurants for all pockets and tastes. Annelies was very helpful, promptly answered our questions! This houseboat is a keeper! :)

  • Finally found time to write a feedback for our time at the "Ripple".
The "Ripple" is a really nice place to stay, while your visit in Amsterdam. The location is great, a supermarket and café is just a couple minutes walk away. You actually don't need a ticket for the tram, we walked almost everywhere, but the next station is just couple of footsteps away.
We also enjoyed the ducks of the channel and the great particular view :) It was great, that they offered us big and good maps of the city, so finding places to visit was very easy. Barak also helped us on the phone finding places, so the service was top!
I really do recommend the place, it is very cozy and I know where look first for my next vacation in Amsterdam.
Just book it and enjoy the typical way of staying in Amsterdam!
