House - Entire home/apt · Woodward Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14214, United States

Just remodeled in January

Private apartment with private bathroom, full bed, kitchenette, stove, fridge,Keurig, closet, tons of natural light and private bathroom in Buffalo's historic Parkside neighborhood. Great neighborhood!

The Space

Guests stay in a private space with separate entrance on the third floor. The suite was just remodeled and has tons of light with cathedral ceilings.
It contains a sleeping area with a full bed, spacious closet and private bathroom with a claw foot tub and shower. The apartment has a kitchenette with refrigerator stove and sink. Free laundry is available in the basement. Wifi is also available for guest use.

Across the hall is my office. I usually work a few hours a day during the week. I live with my family downstairs. We are happy to respect your privacy, but also love to hang out with during your down time!

Parkside is a historic neighborhood located minutes from downtown Buffalo. It is an upper middle class neighborhood filled with responsible, working families. There is a 7-11 convenient store within walking distance were food and other basic essentials can be purchased.

The space is close to many of the area's colleges, including University of Buffalo, Canisius, D'Youville, Medaille and Buffalo State College. In addition, the property is located within walking distance from the Buffalo Zoo and Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin Martin house.

Niagara Falls (30 minutes away) and Toronto (about 90 minutes away depending on traffic) make great excursions during your stay in Buffalo!

There are bus stops within walking distance and plenty of free street parking available for guests. There is a school across the street, so coming & going between 2-2:30 can be a little tricky during the week. If you give yourself some extra travel time, it shouldn't be an issue.

Maximum stay is one month. If interested in longer stays please message me.

  • We have family in the neighborhood and this is our second visit to Jamie's Private Apartment Suite. It was perfect for us the first time around and even better this time. The space has been fully renovated and now the space is a complete studio apt with a little kitchenette. The neighborhood is fantastic. You can easily walk to the park, the zoo or the Frank Lloyd Wright house. This is much more pleasant than staying at a motel. We would come back again.

  • Jamie and Ruth were such great host. Although we arrived pretty late, they were waiting for us with a glass of wine. They recommended us cool places to eat in and spots to see in Buffalo. Thanks to them we got to go up the city hall and see the amazing view on the city. The little apartment was just perfect for two persons and well renovated. We got clean sheets, towels and everything was really clean. Thank you again, Jamie and Ruth.

  • This place is absolutely adorable. It is extremely clean and everything is updated. It is bright, cheerful and every other adjective you could want it to be.

Aside from being a super comfy place, I cannot say enough good things about the hosts. They were very welcoming and ensured that I had everything I needed to make my stay as easy as possible.

I would highly recommend booking this studio if you are going to be in the Buffalo area. It is charming and is in a wonderful neighborhood.

  • Lovely little place to stay in a gorgeous neighborhood. Jamie was extremely accomodating and made us feel at home instantly. The space is small but cute and has absolutely everything you would need. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

  • Absolutely perfect! My boyfriend and I wanted to stay in this area of Buffalo, wanted a private experience, and a reasonable price. This suite encompassed all of that and more.

First - it's newly renovated into a charming, spacious area complete with a large closet for suitcases, coats, etc; a beautiful bedroom; a kitchenette; and a perfect bathroom.

Second - The amenities provide an excellent level of comfort and convenience. A small refrigerator/freezer, a Kureg machine (with coffee provided!), and a sink in the main room. If you are not a coffee fan, tea is also provided.

We had been concerned about an office being located across the hall from the suite, but it was no problem at all. It is actually located across the attic, which is a substantial distance, and our privacy was not disturbed at all.

Jamie was really helpful when we did see him in regards to eating locations, parking, and other tips for the area. He also was available by phone/text when we had questions.

Other little notes - towels, some toiletries, and books provided. Again, coffee and tea was a huge bonus.

I can't adequately express how pleased we were with our stay. An absolutely amazing place. Book this and you will not regret it.

  • We had a wonderful experience at Jamie's. He made us feel very welcome and was super accommodating. Their home is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Buffalo. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend Jamie snd Ruth's place to anyone traveling in Buffalo.

  • My 6 year old daughter and I always have a great stay with Jamie et al. The family is far more than accommodating and I always feel very welcomed and right at home. The four children are generally well mannered and rarely get into shouting matches or other fights; the baby obviously makes the most racket of the bunch, but you'd never hear any of it even at its worst from the room.

The space is in the attic, and quite private and removed from the rest of the home, if that is what you are looking for, but I have always been warmly welcomed into the regular living space to visit with the family. The room is rustic looking, not a newly refinished look or feel and includes a really neat gas (I think) space heater that puts out more than enough heat to be comfortable on cold days/nights even at a very low setting. There are two windows that provide plenty of light (another also in the private bathroom) but are very close to the floor and so you would want to watch smaller children. The bed is comfortable and the everything is always well cleaned.

The bathroom is part of the suite and only used by us guests. It has an antique-looking (possibly actually an antique) claw-foot tub that is much larger than regular tubs and has wrap-around curtains and a had-held shower head so you can shower or soak as you prefer. The rest of the bathroom doesn't warrant much description, but it's worth mentioning that some of the wall paneling has holes; nothing dangerous and never gets in the way but its apparent.

You are given a set of keys for the outside door and that can keep the entire attic locked; though, Jamie does work in another room at the opposite side of the attic and will have access. The location is great and really you don't need to worry anyway, its smack between a church/school and the zoo in a quiet family neighborhood.

If you are looking to taste the local life/food the hosts are excellent resources and can definitely help you get around, or often even explore with you. Coffee/tea is readily available and there is also a small fridge/freezer just outside the door of the room you can keep food in if you like. I have stayed with this family many times now and will be returning for many more visits. If you don't need Hilton-style accommodations but rather like enjoying the locale and meeting new people than this is the place for you.

  • Jamie and Ruth were wonderful hosts! Their apartment was cozy and cute. They made my stay very inviting and a safe place to be. I would gladly come back.

  • Jamie was a very friendly host, making sure I got in to the room comfortably and showing me around the house. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, and having a bathroom in the room was a pleasant convenience. The room was a touch chilly at night, but there were plenty of blankets to make it a comfy night. I think Jamie mentioned they were doing some work on the heating, so that might not be an issue at this time. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
