Fully furnished 1BR house in nature for short- to long-term stays for temporary housing. You have the entire house and property to yourselves & your hosts are life-long residents in the area, happy to help anytime with relocation assistance.

The Space

This charming one-bedroom cabin can accommodate up to 6 people (with 2 airbeds, one of which we can provide). There's 1 private bedroom, plus a very large living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove/oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, utensils, etc. There's 1 bathroom with a conventional shower/tub. The living room is our favorite part of the house with high vaulted ceilings and tons of natural light streaming in (keep in mind there is no TV, but yes there is cell phone signal & Internet!). From the living room there's an attached deck for relaxing outdoors in your secluded piece of the forest.

Guest Access

Free reign to the entire house and surrounding acres of land.

Interaction with Guests

We will not be there at all. You will have as much privacy as one can imagine, but we are only a text, phone call, or email away at all times. We also are happy to help with any relocating assistance or questions you may have about the area.

The Neighborhood

The area is completely secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's super quiet (you can't even hear any noise from the roads nearby because the house is set quite a distance back from the main roads) and there's no nearby neighbors to worry about -- you could walk around in your birthday suit and nobody would know! ;)

Things to do in the area:

Getting around

  • We are active duty military and being reassigned to Raleigh. We were looking for something outside the normal hotels to stay for a week while we house hunted and came upon Carlee's cabin. Albeit a bit rustic but we really liked the seclusion. It was quaint, clean and comfortable.

  • If you want a secluded getaway, this will fit the bill. The large front porch is great for relaxing and we were excited to see fireflies at night. Carlee answered our questions in a timely manner and and is a friendly host. The photos show a nice sofa & matching armchair, but the cabin had a futon instead that wasn't very comfy. Not sure if that was replaced since our stay?? However, we didn't spend much time in the cabin since we were exploring. Also, an fyi...there's no coffee pot (or if there was, we couldn't find it), if you're a big coffee drinker. The bedroom is huge and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! So relaxing after a tiring day. Both our kids (age 3 and 7) fit perfectly on the extra bed and Carlee arranged everything for us. I recommend arriving during the day. It's quite dark at night with a narrow dirt road surrounded by thick trees. Although it's secluded, you are not far from restaurants and shopping.

    Response from Carlee:

Notes: The Airbnb verified photographs are up-to-date. We have also added a coffee maker.

The new couch was delivered immediately following Denise's stay. We replaced the futon with the leather couch shown in the photos after Denise's stay. A professional Airbnb photographer then came out the next day to take new, updated photos of the house, hence why the currently accurate photos do not reflect the furniture or layout during Denise's stay as she describes.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! It had everything we needed for our weeklong stay. Loved the front deck and watching the birds. Also loved the bicycling trails in the area. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, rustic getaway!

  • This is a beautiful house. We absolutely loved living here for three months. Truly sun-drenched!! Great for anyone wanting to enjoy some quiet and some outdoors, in a house with an awesome design. Particularly great for any star-gazer, artist, bird-watcher, or runner/cyclist.

What's amazing about this place year-round is the giant front porch. Our stay was during the Winter, but because of that sunny South/Southwest facing porch, we were able to sit outside in the middle of the day without coats. And this was a cold Winter for North Carolina! We enjoyed seeing hawks, an owl, and a big family of tiny lizards (anoles). I can't imagine what it must be like in the warmer months!!

Carlee was quick to resolve any issues that came up - she was always prompt and proactive. I really trusted her and her husband Philihp to handle anything and to be concerned about how we were doing.

The house is new and you will find it clean -- and easy to keep clean thanks to nice wood floors. It's lived-in so you don't feel uncomfortable. Very inviting. Stayed nice and warm.

Free of sound pollution and light pollution, so a wonderful and relaxing place day or night... any time of the year!
