The Downtown Austin Luxury Standard

Apartment - Entire home/apt · East 4th Street, Austin, TX 78701, United States

The Standard is as centrally located as it gets. Steps from the Austin Convention Center, world famous 6th Street, and Congress Avenue, this space is walkable to everything. With 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, there is plenty of space for groups.

Please note that the Airport Flyer will drop you basically at the front door for $1, and runs every 30 minutes or so.

Situated one block from the Austin Convention Center, two blocks from the world famous 6th Street and the Warehouse District, and a handful of blocks from every other downtown attraction including hundreds of restaurants, movie theaters, bars, nightclubs, lounges, and live music venues, the location cannot be beat. The town lake walking/jogging trail is just a few blocks away, there is a yoga studio just across the street, Starbucks is 200 feet from the front door, and arrangements can be made for a temporary gym membership two blocks away during your visit, if desired.

This unit features accommodations for up to 12 guests (one king, four queen beds, and a queen sized air mattress), central air and heat, a full sized stackable washer and dryer, a small balcony, free cable television, free wireless internet access, wood burning fireplace, and plush furnishings. You will also receive access to free private gated parking for two cars (plus a motorcycle or scooter), if you need it. Since you can walk to everything, you might consider taking the Airport Flyer from Austin Bergstrom International for $1 per person. It picks up and drops off in front of the building every 30 minutes, and will save you the hassle and expense of a rental car or taxi.

There is also an outdoor pool area, and one of the most lively neighborhoods in ATX! If you need assistance with tours, transportation services, or anything else, we are here to help.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the condo complex, the condo, the secured parking area, the pool area, and the best of downtown Austin.

Interaction with Guests

I like to interact with my guests as much or as little as they would like. I am always available (24/7) to answer questions via email, text, or phone, and I enjoy meeting many of my guests. However, I am also very respectful, and allow my guests to determine how much interaction they would like to have. Ever since I setup automatic door locks, there are some guests that I have not ever met in person. Whatever works best for the guest, works fine for me.

The Neighborhood

I love that the downtown neighborhood is so vibrant, and provides the ability to walk to the best restaurants, bars, shopping, and nightlife in Austin. The Railyard is in a unique location that is hard to beat. I also appreciate the convenient access to Town Lake for hiking and biking trails, among other things.

Getting around

In addition to the Airport Flyer that I already mentioned, there are also pedicabs, taxi cabs, light rail, horse-drawn carriages, limousines, and other forms of public transportation within a block that can be easily accessed.

Other Things to Note

If you are interested in hosting an even larger group, please note that I own and manage a large number of units in the same building complex, as well as some nearby houses. I am happy to host large groups for weddings, convention center trade shows, and other events in Austin.

Check In
  • Ryan was so helpful, accessible, and accommodating. He helped take care of all the details the day before so that when we arrived, everything was very smooth. The condo was perfect - amazing location, clean, and comfortably slept our group of 10. Everyone had a blast, and having such a great place to stay really made all the difference in our weekend. We will be back and we will be staying here again! Thank you, Ryan!

  • Me and my friends had a terrific time in Austin and in no small part to Ryan's condo that we rented. It was the perfect distance to the bars, Barton springs and even had a Starbucks across the street which we visited to recover in the morning. The condo was tidy and equipped with everything we needed for the weekend festivities. Additionally Ryan helped me with numerous recommendations and when a problem that we had in Austin came up he was in communication with us to resolve it. I would chose Ryan and his condo if and when I come back to Austin and would recommend it to anyone.

    Response from Ryan:

Thanks, Joe. I really enjoyed hosting your group, and hope you will come back to visit Austin again soon. Cheers for the kind words.

  • Stayed here for a long weekend. Great location and wonderful place! Would happily stay here again.

  • This condo was perfect for a long weekend in Austin. It was very well maintained with all the necessities provided. The 12 people staying at the condo were comfortable in the accommodations. There was a small issue with the water heater but Ryan was very quick in getting this resolved and taken care of.

This is the perfect location to walk to the bars on E. 6th and cabs were readily available across the street to take us anywhere we needed to go. The condo was a corner unit and had keyless entry that helped a lot for managing a large group of people.

    Highly recommended.

  • Ryan was very much in contact with me thruout the booking/RSVPing/checking-in process.

Most everything about the apartment was as described and as depicted in the photos, although my group felt the kitchen was a bit lacking in amenities. (Dont expect there to be as much as a spice rack nor spray for your cooking pan -- just plan ahead and bring in everything you'll think you'll need! We were also surprised to see a Keurig as opposed to a traditional coffee maker, and no tea kettle, but Starbucks is literally across the street (and Jo's a few blocks away) so we satisfied our fix that way.) Otherwise, beds were comfy, there were plenty of fresh towels to go around, etc.. Plenty of room for the 9 of us to stay without being on top of each other or fighting for the bathrooms. The living/dining area was large enough and had enough seating for us to gather together to eat.

The location can't be beat -- surrounded by food, drinks, and the downtown music scene. We were an industrious group and even made it deep into SoCo and over to the eastside of I-35 by foot.

Would definitely consider staying here again if the occasion arose!

    Response from Ryan:

Thanks, Alison. I am glad you had a nice stay and enjoyed exploring Austin! I am going to add a regular coffee/tea maker, as per your suggestion, in addition to the Keurig that is there. I think that the Keurig is great, but agree that some people will want to make their own coffee and tea, as you did. Thanks for the heads up. The Starbucks across the street is a definite plus though. On the spices, we decided early on to throw away all food items from the unit after each guest (as opposed to keeping the places stocked with spices and what not). This is a precaution in case somebody put something in one of the food items by accident or on purpose. We felt that it was safer (health wise) to just let people handle that individually . I hope you agree. Next time you visit, if there is anything you want me to stock before your arrival, just let me know and it will be done. Thanks again for being such a great guest. Come back soon!

  • Ryan is the perfect host! He was readily available throughout the whole trip just to ensure everything was going well for us. He responded promptly to all of our questions and immediately addressed any concerns that we had. For example, we thought one of the windows was broken because we could feel air coming through. I texted Ryan and he sent a maintenance guy right over to fix it. It turned out that the window wasn't closed all the way >_< Another example of Ryan's great customer service is when my friends arrived in Austin late Thursday night with a car rental that they decided to get at the last minute. The assigned parking was taken by another vehicle so I texted Ryan very late that night (around 1-2am) and he responded right away to address our problem. He even went above and beyond in helping us find good restaurants to eat for lunch/dinner. We loved his condo - it was fully equipped with almost everything we needed (there are no condiments...salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc). It was walking distance to all of the bars, clubs, restaurants, food trucks and touristy spots! We enjoyed our stay at Ryan's condo and would definitely rent his place again if we come back to Austin. I highly recommend Ryan - his hospitality made our experience in Austin all the better! :)

    Response from Ryan:

Sandy, you are too kind. Thank you for the nice words, and please come back and stay again soon. If you want me to stock the condo with any items before your next visit, just let me know and I will make sure everything is waiting for you before your arrival. We purposely don't leave food items, condiments, and what not in the condos because we are fearful that something could get contaminated and we would not have any way of knowing. It was a decision we made early on to protect our guests. Thanks again for your review, and I look forward to having you back in Austin before too long!

  • Ryan was great. When we got there he stuck around and helped us get the lay of the land as none of us had been to Austin. He also helped my friends with a couple of surprises and even hand delivered a package halfway through the weekend. The place was immaculate and it was comfortable for the whole basketball team.

  • This was the second of our group's rentals from Ryan--and as promised, he was an excellent host! This location can't be beat and our group greatly enjoyed their stay being right downtown.

  • Great Place and Location! Ryan was very responsive to any issues. If you have 10ish people just make sure to plan your showers so you don't have to take a cold one :)

    January 2014
  • Ryan was the perfect host and made sure our every request was meet before, during and after our stay. He accommodated our request and was easy to reach for any questions we had during our stay. The convenient location across from the convention center was perfect for our corporate hospitality suite. We look forward to working with Ryan for our future events in Austin!

Travel Industry
I have been in Austin since 1994. As much as I love the city, I also enjoy traveling and photographing vacation destinations and tourist attractions around the world. As a registered travel agent, I am able to work while I enjoy tours and activities in places like the London, Paris, Rome, New York, San Francisco, and Hawaii, to name a few. I have always wanted to own/operate a hotel. That has been a passion of mine since I was a child. For that reason, I enjoy having guests staying in my rental properties, and I want to provide so much more than just a place to stay. My goal is to create a memorable experience for my guests. I want my guests to know that not only does Austin deliver a good time, but that this home away from home is waiting for you. With my connections in the travel industry, and tenure in the city, I strive to provide a level of service you will not find with other rental managers. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like. I enjoy talking about Austin and the property, so I welcome you to communicate with me. I am here to help, and your good time is my priority.
