Some info has been automatically translated.
The accommodation is an old Japanese-style house built 40 years ago in the mountains that retains its old-fashioned appearance. The layout is suitable for a family vacation or a group trip with close friends, as there is a spacious 8 tatami mat Japanese-style room and a 10 tatami mat room. Of course, we also accept reservations for one person. No other guests will be accepted during the reserved stay, so you can enjoy your stay without hesitation. However, each room is only has a sliding door, so each room cannot be used as a private room. Because the house is built on a 300-tsubo site, it is away from the neighbors, so you can stay without worrying about them. During the summer, you can also enjoy barbecues and fireworks in the front yard. If you are interested in the stars, we will also show you the starry sky with the optical equipment we have on clear nights. During the day, you can also use drones to take a walk in the sky over the surrounding mountains from the backyard. This is a quiet and natural environment that you will never experience in the city, and it is an area that still retains the old traditional culture unique to the southern region, which is common to Tono in Iwate Prefecture. Please understand that we will be closed for the winter from November 1 to March 19 of the following year.

The space
This is a Japanese-style house with a large veranda that retains its old-fashioned charm. The large tatami mat room is very comfortable for summer stays. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, rice cooker, microwave, IH table, dishes, and cooking utensils. If you prepare the ingredients, even if you are with your family, you can easily cook and eat as if you were at home. There is also a washing machine in the dressing room, so even for long stays, you can get by with a minimum of changes of clothes. Guests with small children can also use the host's hobby room. The hobby room has a variety of works made by the host, including model trains. We also provide driving and flying experiences for children who are interested in model trains and drones.

Guest access
Please feel free to use the Japanese-style room (1 room, 8 tatami), the 2 Western-style rooms (10 tatami each), and the other Western-style room (8 tatami) during your stay. The Western-style room is equipped with a laptop, so you can use the internet on your computer as well as WiFi. The toilet (with bidet), bathroom, kitchen, and dining room are for guest use only. Please feel free to use them anytime.

Other things to note
* We will cancel reservations made on behalf of individuals as soon as we find out, even after the reservation is confirmed.
* Please note that we do not provide any meals in the morning or evening. Instead, there is a convenience store, LAWSON, a 2-minute walk away, where you can buy bento boxes and other food 24 hours a day.
* If you prepare ingredients at the supermarket, you can cook in the kitchen. However, please wash and put away your own dishes and cooking utensils after meals. We also provide tools for barbecuing in the front yard during warmer seasons.

Where you’ll be

Gonohe, 青森県, Japan

The accommodation is surrounded by nature and is a quiet mountain village. Because it is a northern country, the lowest temperature in midwinter can drop to nearly -10 degrees Celsius, but the climate is relatively comfortable in summer. Therefore, even in midsummer, you can stay without air conditioning. It is also possible to visit tourist destinations in three prefectures on a day trip by car, as it is close to the border of both Iwate and Akita prefectures. This area has long been famous for horse breeding, and horse meat dishes are recommended for eating and walking. National Route 454, which is closed in winter, will be reopened in early April, so Lake Towada is about 45 minutes away by car. Lake Towada, where you can enjoy the fresh green leaves of spring and the autumn foliage, is the perfect place to tour the Oirase Keiryu.
