Room # 8 - Private and Cozy with partial mountain and ocean views
The Inaba's Kona Hotel is a family run hotel close to town and has been serving resident and visitors alike for 86 years. This 1920's hotel was the "first" hotel in North Kona and is located in the small art & coffee town of Holualoa, a short drive up the hill from Kailua-Kona. Popular with Europeans and backpackers, this hotel is clean, delightful and will charm those on a budget and who have an appreciation for historical sites. Single & Double occupancy with separate men's & women's bathrooms down the hall.
There is a great restaurant and coffee shop across the street as well as a mom and pop grocery store, post office and numerous art galleries and gift shops located within short walking distance.
This hotel is NOT by the beach. It's an approximate drive of 8 minutes from the nearest beach so a form of transportation is necessary if you’re interested in touring and discovering the island.

A wonderful experience. A truly historic place. And yet very functional and comfortable. Warm people, accepting people,
who allow you to mingle with them in their very home. I would go back in a second, and in fact will go back and spend a longer time just relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere, sitting on the rocker on the porch, getting coffee and music across the road. Love it.
The Inaba's Kona Hotel is a nice place to stay, as long as you have a car or your own transportation to drive you to Kona-Kailua or to other spots. The view from the hotel is awesome and the building is charming. Nevertheless, the hotel isn't that sound-isolated and you could ear a fly flying in the bedrrom next to yours.
Staying at the Kona Hotel was great. The people/family in the hotel made you feel like you were at home. The room was huge and comfy and the view was amazing. Thanks Kona Hotel for making our stay in Kona unforgettable.
