This is a spacious three bedroom duplex apartment with one room available for guests. We are three working professionals (1 female, 2 males) who've lived in NYC for 9+ years.
The bedroom for airbnb guests is private, air conditioned in summer, heated in winter, with queen size bed and ample closet space. A clean bathroom (with excellent water pressure) is all yours and not shared with anyone. Complimentary WiFi, coffee, and (website hidden) in living room on our 100" projector screen (movie nights!) for your entertainment if you want to relax from the hustle & bustle of NYC. Shared kitchen (free use of our cooking ware, fridge, utensils, spices, etc) and access to our own PRIVATE ROOFTOP that overlooks the UWS. We love to hangout or grill during the warmer seasons and welcome our guests to relax outdoors above the city. Laundromat is on the first floor and very convenient.
We have hosted many guests through Airbnb. We were on hiatus for a few months, but are back to hosting again (we missed meeting awesome people!). We know great places for all budgets and tastes, both around the neighborhood and in the outer boroughs. We'll be happy to share tips and suggestions with you! Just ask! Also, we can get you free tickets for almost any museum in NYC (just let us know a few days in advance).
This is a quiet apartment built in 1900s. We're the only residents in the building so there are no noisy neighbors above or below us. The apartment is on the third floor of a walk-up with hard wood floors, high ceilings, and fireplace. If you want to visit NYC and have the New York experience, this is the place to be!
All our shared areas are accessible to our guests. Kitchen, living room, rooftop, and our great knowledge of the city!
Interaction with Guests
We are working professionals and usually out of the apartment by 7am until early evening. If you prefer private space and your own time, just let us know and we'd be happy to accommodate. Otherwise, if you're looking to hang out in NYC and go to local spots, we'd love to show you around after work or on weekends.
Upper West Side is known for its charming streets, proximity to Central Park and Riverside Park, and pristine architecture. There are plenty of fun daytime activities, tons of local restaurants, are easy access to all tourist hot spots like Times Square, Madison Square Garden, and downtown Manhattan. The area is very safe and quiet at night and lively during the day.
Super convenient, 1 block from 1/2/3 subway, 2 blocks from B/C. All major crosstown/uptown/downtown buses stop a block from our place too. And if you're a walker, we are less than 10 minutes walking distance to Natural History museum, Central Park, Lincoln Center, etc.
Other Things to Note
Our building is a walk-up (no elevator). We are on the 3rd floor and always willing to help with your luggage if you need it.
This is a non-smoking home. Access to the apartment is granted to guests only. Courtesy, respect, and general cleanliness make us very happy! If you need to smoke, we request you please smoke outdoors. Thank you!
Crystal, Mark, David and James are great hosts!!
They were very hospitable, happy to help with advice and a hair dryer but also happy to give us our personal space.
The room was small and gets hot easily but the air conditioner is a welcomed relief and the hosts provided scented candles so that it didn't get too whiffy.
It's a shame they are discontinuing with Air BNB because we would cherish the opportunity to stay there again.
The location is great! Very convenient for various method of transportation. We loved the rooftop! Such beautiful views on a clear night. They have different kinds of plants and even a hammock! How cool is that? lol
The room is quite small but cozy. However, the living room is open to guests and hosts are very approachable and welcoming.
The neighborhood is very nice as well, many great restaurants :) and the bakery downstair is definitively worthy trying!
P.S The cat is very cute and he doesn't like closed door, so be sure to leave your doors open if possible, lol
Logement très bien localisé, quartier très agréable ! De même, Davide, Mark et Crystal sont extrêmement sympathiques, parfait pour passer d'agréables vacances à New York !
Great hosts!! Good location, room was clean, you could tell there were brand new sheets, etc. The house manual they provide is a really nice touch as well. Overall, they were great and accommodating hosts and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a central location in NYC. Our only complaints were that the bathroom was not that clean, and they were slightly difficult to get in contact with but otherwise we really enjoyed staying there!! My girlfriend even left her wallet there by mistake and thy were so kind that they came back to the apt. so she could pick it up. So nice!!
Everything was as advertised. I was busy working in New York so I just wanted a quiet, dependable stay in my old neighborhood on the UWS. My hosts were friendly but also let me do my own thing, which I appreciated given how busy I was.
The reservation was canceled 63 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
First of all the location is great. Right in the centre of Manhattan. Perfect for touring the whole city (uptown and down, east and westside) and two blocks from a main subway station (so expresses stop there too, important!).
Secondly, the room is small but comfortable and the common area is open to guests and very welcoming. The kitchen area is well stocked but tiny, so maybe stagger those meal preparation times. Water pressure is excellent which really matters to me.
Thirdly, the hosts are really, really nice. Friendly, helpful, inclusive. More than one evening we ended up chatting (and drinking) way longer than any of us intended.
It was a great experience.
We are 3 working professional who enjoy exploring the city, finding new eats, and sharing our favorite spots with friends/visitors. We're all in the tech industry, work during the day, and relax in the evening. If you're looking for social people, we'd be more than happy to show you around. Otherwise, we are also respectful of our guest's space and private time to unwind after a long day in NYC.
