A bus gets you within a 30 walk but we can arrange a ride or taxi to pick you up in a nearby town for about $20.
A great place to enjoy a peaceful farm life, nature, read or write a book, do some farm work or just relax.
NOTE: If our calander here says we're booked it's because airbnb only lets us list one room so we likely still might have space. Send us an inquiry here and let us know you're interested in visiting and we'll let you know if we still have space and create another listing so you can still book here.
Interaction with Guests
Also note that the price you pay here on airbnb is for your room and stay. If you stay less than a week and have lots of questions about our farm, Costa Rica, or want a walking talking tour to the waterfall we'd be happy to have a person available to entertain you but we have to charge and extra $30 for one person or $50 per group for about 4-5 hours of walking and or answering questions. You would pay for this after your stay is confirmed with airbnb and before your arrival once we confirm a date.
If you stay a week or more, chances are we will have time inbetween our normal chores and work schedule to answer most of your questions
Other Things to Note
You must be confirmed and paid 3 days before your arrival so we can prepare on our side. In some cases we can do same day arrivals but normally a 3 day notice is necessary.
It's sometimes possible for us to arrange horseback riding for 3-4 persons for a fair price if horses are ready and available. If you have interest in such please ask.
Ben's farm is a perfect place to relax, enjoy farm life, and immerse yourself in nature. Ben and his family are great hosts and their land is expansive and beautiful. We stayed in the rustic cabin not far from the main house, which is charming and well built. Don't forget to hike down to the nearby waterfall--you'll love it! Great experience!
Ben's Ecofarm is great. You can spend your days exploring nature, enjoy beautiful views and learn a lot of things according to a sustainable lifestyle. You can sleep on a tower under the stars if you like! Plan more time for your stay than you think, due to all the projects going on, the atmosphere and animals it is highly possible that you will extend your days with Ben and his family.
Ben and his family are awesome! The farm was just what I needed to get away from the noise of my hometown. I got to spend lots of time learning about how Ben's farm worked, and he was super generous with fruit/food and with knowledge! There are lots of projects going on on the farm and it was fun to get involved and help out, too. But Ben was open to providing the best experience he could, and allowed me to help in any capacity I wanted while also giving me plenty of time to explore and relax. I highly recommend experiencing this farm. It was such a relaxing experience, but also taught me a ton!
This place is absolutely amazing. The first morning I learned how to make coffee from the beans off the farm which was awesome. I then enjoyed my coffee with a banana on the bambo tower over looking the mountains. They also have a waterfall you can hike down to on the property which the dog will lead the way if you follow him and show you where it is. Bens wife cooked for us for a small amount of money which I highly recommend. The only bad part about my stay is that it wasn't long enough. I will be returning here in the future.
I had an awesome experience. I'd rather stay here and experience nature, hear Ben's awesome stories and drink the coffee from this farm that I myself roasted, than stay at a five star hotel. Adrianna makes excellent dinners - do not pass up!
My boyfriend and I had stayed here for a week and we just loved it! It is quite the experience. We wanted to do something different and live the Costa Rican lifestyle and this is definitely it. Free and peaceful.
Access to all mountain grounds, hills, waterfalls, banana plantation and coffee plants you can imagine! We got to make our own coffee from
Picking to grinding to roasting!
We were able to see the process of how banana flour was made as well.
We were able to do horseback riding from one of Ben's horses which was an amazing ride up the trails of the mountain.
We were a bus ride away from the city of San isidro (~45mins/around 1.50$) which runs from the house twice daily at about 655am and 1230 pm. From the city back there's several buses an the last one is at 430pm.
You can always take a taxi to and from the city takes about 15-20 mins and costs about 20$.
There's a farmers market we were able to see that happens every Thursdays and Fridays which was neat! Bring or buy groceries before going to the house so it will save you a trip to the city. Full access to the kitchen. There is only one store near the house which is about a 30-40 minute hike down and back which sells a good variety of items.
All in all the view every morning was spectacular, with the sounds of the animals as your alarm clock.
The dogs Ocito and Sam were amazing and followed you everywhere you went and felt safe.
Ben and Adriana were great hosts and Adriana is an amazing cook!
It's a must to try her cooking when staying here!
Amazing experience and would definitely do it again!
Great Experience. Extended my stay. This is how life is meant to be. If you want to feel free from it all come here. You will not regret it. Thanks Ben and Adriana!
