Interaction with Guests
Also note that the price you pay here on airbnb is for your room and stay. If you stay less than a week and have lots of questions about our farm, Costa Rica, or want a walking talking tour to the waterfall we'd be happy to have a person available to entertain you but we have to charge and extra $30 for one person or $50 per group for about 4-5 hours of walking and or answering questions. You would pay for this after your stay is confirmed with airbnb and before your arrival once we confirm a date.
If you stay a week or more, chances are we will have time inbetween our normal chores and work schedule to answer most of your questions
Other Things to Note
You must be confirmed and paid 3 days before your arrival so we can prepare on our side. In some cases we can do same day arrivals but normally a 3 day notice is necessary.
It's sometimes possible for us to arrange horseback riding for 3-4 persons for a fair price if horses are ready and available. If you have interest in such please ask.
I could not have made a better decision when making arrangements to stay at Ecojoya Farm. Ben and his family are amazing and were very welcoming. They are extreme helpful and available if you have any questions. I came alone with my two girls, and they too have absolutely loved being on the farm. It's quite an adventure.
The farm house is beautiful, clean, and very well managed. My expectations of the accommodations were exceeded. Although you are still in nature, it is not invasive to the living quarters.
We took a hike to a small waterfall on the property, and will be assisting in some of the projects on the farm. I also hope to go on a horse ride while we're here, which can be arranged with Ben. We will extend our stay considering how comfortable and at-home we feel here. Those who are into health and wellness will love this place. You have unlimited access to bananas and the environment lends itself to healthy living! Pura Vida!
Ecojoya is a wonderful peaceful banana & coffee property about 40min from San Isidro. Ben & Adriana and friendly, quiet hosts who have a large home on a 21 hectare property - plenty of space, quiet and small farm animals. Internet coverage goes well beyond the house. While not high speed, it does allow you to work if needed. My room was quiet and large with a modern bathroom and well equipped large kitchen, laundry and dining open air area. You'll wake to roosters & 19 ducklings were born while I was here. The two dogs, cat, goats, chickens and ducks all get along so it is a really lovely stay and pleasant change from city accommodation. Be prepared for a remote stay, two buses daily + a walk, or cabs for approx 10k CRC. Well worth it if you stock up with food supplies and settle in for a relaxing time.
Ben & Adriana, thank you for your hospitality and a lovely break in this pretty region.
Ben's farm is a perfect place to relax, enjoy farm life, and immerse yourself in nature. Ben and his family are great hosts and their land is expansive and beautiful. We stayed in the rustic cabin not far from the main house, which is charming and well built. Don't forget to hike down to the nearby waterfall--you'll love it! Great experience!
Ben's Ecofarm is great. You can spend your days exploring nature, enjoy beautiful views and learn a lot of things according to a sustainable lifestyle. You can sleep on a tower under the stars if you like! Plan more time for your stay than you think, due to all the projects going on, the atmosphere and animals it is highly possible that you will extend your days with Ben and his family.
Ben and his family are awesome! The farm was just what I needed to get away from the noise of my hometown. I got to spend lots of time learning about how Ben's farm worked, and he was super generous with fruit/food and with knowledge! There are lots of projects going on on the farm and it was fun to get involved and help out, too. But Ben was open to providing the best experience he could, and allowed me to help in any capacity I wanted while also giving me plenty of time to explore and relax. I highly recommend experiencing this farm. It was such a relaxing experience, but also taught me a ton!
This place is absolutely amazing. The first morning I learned how to make coffee from the beans off the farm which was awesome. I then enjoyed my coffee with a banana on the bambo tower over looking the mountains. They also have a waterfall you can hike down to on the property which the dog will lead the way if you follow him and show you where it is. Bens wife cooked for us for a small amount of money which I highly recommend. The only bad part about my stay is that it wasn't long enough. I will be returning here in the future.
