We are located in a charming, historic neighborhood in the Cultural District of Fort Worth. Several shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and even more are only a short drive away. The Will Rogers Memorial Center, Amon Carter Museum, Kimbell Art Museum, Modern Art Museum, Museum of Science and History (including the Children's Museum), and the Cowgirl Museum, as well as the UNT Health Science Center are all located approximately one mile away. TCU, Colonial Golf Course, and the Fort Worth Zoo are also all within easy reach, located less than 5 miles away.
Catch city Bus #2 less than a quarter-mile away, at Camp Bowie and Hillcrest. Provides direct access to the Intermodal Transit Center, downtown (and nearby Sundance Square), West 7th area, the museums and Will Rogers Center, and UNTHSC. We're happy to provide route and schedules.
No smoking or pets, please.
This place is as cute and inviting as the photos indicate. Alison did a great job and made us feel right at home. Plus, the location can't be beat. At this spot you are perfectly poised to visit the Stockyards, stroll through downtown, attend the rodeo and get a bite to eat in Southside. Plus there is a fabulous grocery store nearby (Central Market) if you want to a make a quick meal.
A wonderful place to stay! Our daughter lives in the neighborhood and was having our first grandchild. We rented the loft for three weeks with my wife there the whole time and my son and me there for the last week - worked beautifully with my daughter's house in easy walking distance. The private entrance and the pleasant neighborhood made our frequent trips to visit the new baby a breeze. We were also able to easily give the new parents private time as the full cooking facilities in the loft allowed us to have our meals there and even prepare meals for the new parents.
The flat is clean and bright, well heated, and very pleasantly decorated. The kitchen eating area window faces east and on a sunny day is a stellar place to have breakfast with a view into the backyard and a large tree. And I should mention Sonny (Sunny?), a beautiful and soft calico cat that is often in the backyard. The bedrooms have good-sized closets and bedside drawers for storage and the beds are very comfortable. A Kurig coffee maker with a selection of coffees and bottled water were provided and an email to Alison quickly produced more bottled water when we started to run out.
All in all a great place to stay and we will definitely be staying again on our next visit, if possible.
We chose Alison's space because it would meet our needs for a romantic weekend getaway in Ft. Worth, but we were so excited when we got there and it far exceeded our expectations.
First, the location is perfect--a quiet neighborhood within close driving distance to everything-museums, Sundance Square, the zoo, the botanical gardens, etc. When we chose the location, we did not realize just how close it was to everything we wanted to do and see in Ft. Worth. We didn't waste any time in traffic, plus we had the benefit of coming "home" to a beautiful, historical, tree-lined neighborhood each evening.
Next, the space itself is fantastic--a garage apartment, separate from the main house, with easy access. Two spacious bedrooms, kitchen, sitting area, and bathroom, all impeccably decorated with all the comforts of home. Central AC kept us comfortable in the Texas heat. Everything was perfectly clean, the towels soft, the bed comfortable. Though we didn't do any cooking, the kitchen would easily lend itself to full-meal preparation. I am a frequent business traveller and also thought this space would be perfect for a business trip to the area--again, due to the very central location, as well as the fast wireless internet, and the comforts of home not found in a hotel room.
Last, Alison is a very gracious host. We arrived to a fridge with lots of bottled water (essential for our long walks around the area), plenty of coffee pods for the Keurig, and she even stocked some fresh half and half for my morning coffee addiction. Alison provided us with excellent suggestions for things to do in the area as well as good eateries. Speaking to the privacy of the space, we never saw or heard Alison or her family until I purposely ran into them when they were returning home from an outing. I wanted to personally meet our host and thank her for such a wonderful experience (and ask her about some specifics on her decor as we are ready to do some redecorating based on this lovely space!)
We highly recommend Alison and her Loft in the Heights. We plan to return in the near future and would not want to stay anywhere else.
We wanted to stay as close to our family as possible and Alison's garage apartment (a few minutes drive away) was absolutely perfect for us. Her design skills really shine here - everything down to the color of the hand soap worked well together. Thanks so much for the pastries, coffee, and water - it was great to not have to worry about those things on that first morning. And the kitchen was well equipped for quick meals. Alison also kindly provided a travel crib for our 1.5 yr old as well which was perfect. We had a wonderful stay and hope to be able to stay again!
Our experience was great. Having a separate entrance allowed us to come and go easily. We had privacy and were very comfortable during our stay.
We LOVED our stay in the garage loft! Everything about it was comfortable, clean and it had everything we needed and wanted. Alison was quick to respond to anything we needed. We definitely recommend this place!
Stylishly decorated, clean, and cozy - we couldn't have asked for more!
The neighborhood is beautiful, and there were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby...and just a short ride into downtown Fort Worth.
Plus, Alison was a great host - prompt and accommodating.
My husband and I loved it - we would highly recommend her rental!
