The summerhouse of Bonnie and her mother is a really marvellous place. It's tiny, very comfy and unbelievably charming. It's really well located, in the middle of a living neighbourhood and 300 meters away from the seafront. Although you have plenty of neighbours, the place gives you a special feeling of intimacy.
The bustling city of Arhus is 10 km away and even Copenhagen is reachable in one day (go and back).
Communication with Bonny was very easy. She answered quickly and gave us information when needed.
In short, fantastic stay in a lovely country. Thank you!
Thank you Bonnie, your house was a cosy haven during our two days in Aarhus. After visiting in the October rain, it was so nice relaxing near the wood stove. Thank you also for accepting us with our dog and I much enjoyed the walks along the beach. I can only recommend your house when you want to enjoy peace and lovely forest surroundings while being very near town.
Thank you Bonnie for this wonderful experience! The cabin is just super cozy and made us relax from the minute we entered it :-) Bonnie provided us with a lot of wood and so we could sit in front of the fire, enjoy the warmth and totally calm down - exactly what we needed. The beach is very close and invites for long walks. Bonnie has been a wonderful host - she gave us upfront all important information (so e.g. the place was very easy to find for us) and has been very pleasant to communicate with all along. We would definitely go back!!!
This very fine Wood Cabin is the Perfect setting for a romantic or just relaxing time near the sea. We look forward to come back next time we are at Kaløvig. Thank you for the way you took care of us. Loved all the details...
Jeg blev modtaget af Bonnie's mor da jeg ankom til huset. Vi fik en lille snak om huset dets historie. Der var lavet en skriftlig instruktion som var en stor hjælp.
The cottage was a cosy and silent place to come home to after a walk along a nearby beach or an excursion into the city of Aarhus. We liked this much more than having a hotel or flat in the city because it felt like it was in the middle of the woods -- far removed from the city -- even though it was a mere 20 minutes by car (or 45 minutes via a bus). The space is nicely designed with lots of windows and there's even a skylight in one of the 2 bedrooms. We liked the mix of new and old furnishings. And we loved the fireplace which provided just the cottage ambiance to unravel at the end of the day. The place is comfortable as a romantic getaway for a couple or a family of 4 or 5. Our son loved sleeping in the blue wood-frame bed in the living area. We were really happy with our hosts, Bonnie and her mother Cristie, who had thoughtfully warmed the cottage for us and left us with a delicious loaf of bread for our first morning's breakfast. We loved coming "home" to this place and were sad to leave. Thank you Bonnie and Cristie for opening your cottage to us and for being such wonderful hosts. Overall a very positive experience.

About the Host, Bonnie
I am a 24 year old woman from Aarhus, Denmark. I am currently doing a bachelor in Economics and Business Administration at Aarhus University. I very much enjoy travelling, so I was thrilled to discover the airbnb site. I live in central Aarhus with my boyfriend, and I help my parents with renting out their cabin in Skaering close to Aarhus and recently me and my boyfriend Nikolaj are also renting out our own apartment in Aarhus from time to time.
From here you can walk to the beach through a small forest.
The charming local marina. You can walk there along the beach. There is also a cosy restaurant where you can get lunch, dinner or just a coffee.
A very nice place to get vegetables and other produce. It is possible to walk here from the cabin, it's about 4-5 km.
A good place to do the grocery shopping. They have a big selection, and there is also a bakery and a butcher in the shop.
If Føtex is closed this little shop might be open. It's not a grocery store, but has milk, candy, magazines, and also rents out movies.
For a half day trip visit Kalø Slotsruin, the remains of an old royal castle, located at the waters edge.
One of the few national parks in Denmark, Mols Bjerge offers great walks and beautiful scenery.
A big outdoor zoo with scandinavian animals.
