About This Listing
My sun-filled guest room has a new Bamboo mattress which sits high and has a view of rose bushes through the multi-paned windows. There are bookshelves full of great books to explore. The spacious bathroom has been recently remodeled with a retro look.
There's no TV in the bedroom, but there's a big flat screen in the living room you are free to use. But in Ojai - no need for TV! You'll be staying within walking distance of local restaurants & shops, even to hiking trails. And if you're here for a retreat, let me know ahead of time of any special needs (i.e. silence, need to be awakened early,...)
In addition to the bed & bath, guests can access the TV/living room, front yard, back yard with big rustic dining table & relaxing chairs with a view of the mountains. There's even a hammock to while away the hours. Wifi available. Fresh ground coffee or tea available in the a.m. Bottled water anytime.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to leave guests alone, but am available if they want advice on coffee shops, restaurants, hiking trails, or suggestions for day trips or wine tastings. There is a cat on site, so if you're allergic (although the cat is not allowed in the guest room), you'll want to pick another spot, or bring allergy meds with you. The cat tends to disappear in the neighborhood when guests arrive, but his dander remains in the house regardless.
Walkable to restaurants and coffee shops!
Trolley stops out front & you can ride it to Meiner's Oaks for a dollar.
It's nice when they remove their shoes but not required.
Suzanne welcomed me with a smile and showed me her beautiful home. My bedroom was beautiful, warm, and homey. The bathroom is spacious, modern and clean. There was hot coffee in the morning and an offering of home baked bread, granola and yogurt. Wonderful experience!
This was our second time staying with Suzanne, and it was just as wonderful as the first!
The private room/bathroom have all the amenities one could want, and Suzanne is so great about giving her guests space - we hardly knew she was there.
Loved our stay and hope to return.
Suzanne was a lovely host with a lovely home. The location was awesome. If we hadn't been so lazy we could have walked to town. Got up in the morning to coffee and a croissant. Definitely a bargain. We will be back.
Suzanne was a great host. The house was cozy and I really like the neighborhood.
Clean and Comfortable. Great mattress. Excellent Bathroom. Suzanne was the perfect hostess. Close to downtown and with off street parking. What is not to like
This is a great place to stay if you are looking to visit Ojai! It's only a few blocks from downtown, but tucked away in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Suzanne was a gracious host. She was mostly out of sight, but was kind enough to leave coffee and scones in the morning. The room was cozy, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom magnificent.
About the Host, Suzanne
I love books, animals and gardening. Am also a big fan of chocolate and tropical locales. I've traveled to Spain, England, Scotland, Mexico, and Canada as well as much of the U.S. I've often stayed in other's homes or B&Bs and so enjoyed that look into private spaces.
After spending a few days in Ojai a couple years ago, I decided to move here! I hope to make your a Ojai stay a memorable and relaxing one.
