Jude was completely organized and friendly --- lots of information about the Oak Island area to insure that our visit was a good one. The house is super tidy and comfortable --- in fact looking nearly brand new. We had a most relaxing time in the area; wonderful beaches nearby, a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, great walking along the intercoastal waterway, exploring the town of Southport, taking ferries to two great offshore islands. Perfect Little Beach Cottage indeed.
The cottage was beautiful. Everything was clean, tidy, and ready for us well. It felt like home. Jude was extremely hospitable. I would highly recommend staying here if anyone wishes to visit North Carolina. Thanks again Jude
Jude was very helpful and provided great information for us about the house and the island. Although our stay was short, we enjoyed it immensely. The house was very clean and neat. We had no problem finding it and the neighborhood was very quiet. We rested well every night. It was an easy quick trip to the beach and restaurants.
We loved staying at the PLBC! The owner is very pleasant and prompt with communications. We were provided with all necessary information in advance of the trip, as well as an introduction to the property, island, and recommendations for local activities.
The Perfect Little Beach Cottage is exactly that. The features and appliances of the home are very satisfactory, including a full kitchen, dining table, living room, comfy beds, rocking chairs, TV-DVD, Wifi, effective a/c, washer/dryer, and a serene screened patio overlooking the flowered backyard gardens. The informational binder at the cottage provided comprehensive information about onsite amenities. Our kids enjoyed making sand castles in the sandy yard under the shade of live oaks. We slept well at night and did plenty of relaxing and socializing during the day.
The beach cottage is easy to locate and conveniently situated only a short drive to Long Beach. Oak Island town with shops and food is only slightly farther, and the scenic waterfront at Southport is close as well.
We could not get enough of the beach and the Oak Island community, spending a great deal of our time walking about the neighborhood, over to the nearby Intracoastal Waterway, and twice to the Middleton Beach access. My urge to walk (while always substantial) was nearly insatiable on Oak Island, which is an absolute gem with many cul-de-sacs and hideaways for exploration. One is surrounded by natural beauty here, and the wetlands, estuaries, birds and aquatic life of the island are simply breathtaking at times. And so many friendly people! We stopped and chatted with people nearly everywhere we went.
This was my first time staying at an airBnB property, and I am quite pleased with my experience at the PLBC. My entire family hopes to return again someday soon.
The name is fully accurate, as is the description. Perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for, and I hope to be able to return for a longer stay. The host provided timely and accurate communications that were extremely helpful. I very much liked the decor, the screened back porch and outdoor shower, the plants, and the well stocked kitchen and baths, from cookware to condiments, to cleaning products. We watched cable TV and used the wireless to watch streaming videos on our laptop that we brought. I also really liked this quiet residential neighborhood in a lovely maritime oak forest. This end of the island has a wonderful beach, and when we return, we hope to rent kayaks at the Community Center and go exploring. All the recommendations the host made for restaurants and activities enhanced our stay. This was a sweet find for a short-term work-week stay in a region that expects weekly vacation rentals.
This truly is the "Perfect Little Beach Cottage"! We stayed for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. The cottage had everything we needed. It is a short drive to the beach and to Southport, though are are many mom and pop type restaurants and shops on the island.
We will keep this house in mind for future beach trips! Definitely recommend!
We live in the 'big city' just 2.5 hours away but most days we are dreaming about being at the beach. This is our first year renting our cottage. We welcome you to our home and hope you love the Carolina blue skies as much as we do.
