Warm, cozy 2-bedroom apartment with a combined studio kitchen and living area on first floor of my home in Adamant, VT. Sunny and secluded, located on a beautiful back road. The kitchen is stocked for guests who enjoy cooking -- a gas cooktop, pots and pans and some staples (pasta, rice, basic spices, etc). 6 miles from Montpelier, less than a mile to the village of Adamant. Montpelier is a charming town w/ lots of great, locally-owned shops and restaurants.
Adamant is a picture-postcard village with ponds, a waterfall, and a swimming hole, It's the home of the Adamant Music School and the Adamant Co-op --a charming community hub and the oldest co-op in the state. The Co-op offers home cooked meals and groceries, and lots of local color. You can purchase a home-cooked meal and enjoy it on the screened in porch overlooking the waterfall while surfing the net. The Co-op is delightfully quirky--it has an outhouse rather than indoor plumbing, but proudly offers visitors free high speed wifi.
You can enjoy the network of walking, snowshoe and ski trails out the back of my house in any season. Use of the wonderful wood-fired sauna is included. Cats in the house (access to them is included too, if desired).

If you're looking for a place to stay to enjoy a bit of rural Vermont or to visit Montpelier, strongly consider this listing! The apartment easily sleeps 4 and includes a functional kitchen, friendly cats, and a welcoming and helpful hostess. Vacationed in the apartment for 2 nights after significant snow fall and in icy conditions. Cindy warned us in advance of when the driveway became impassable from recent snow and freezing rain, and made sure things were taken care of when the furnace went out. The wood stove was a pleasant source of heat before it could get fixed. The surrounding area was fun to explore (hiking trails behind the house) and Cindy prepared the sauna for us on our last night. Overall, a recommendable host and place to stay. We're looking forward to staying again!
I stayed at Cindy's with a friend while we were attending an herbal conference nearby. Cindy was not in town to greet us, but left wood for the sauna. We got in too late and couldn't take advantage of her hospitality but appreciated a welcoming text from her upon our arrival. The driveway does require attention, but was not a problem in my front wheel drive compact car.
The floor was radiant floor heating and the bedrooms were very comfy. The kitchen was well stocked, English muffins in the fridge with butter, jam, half and half, orange juice, lots of tea, hot chocolate, granola bars, and more. The beds were covered in extremely comfy sheets, lots of blankets and awesome pillows. The lighting was good for reading in bed.
Saturday night we did get to chat with Cindy and found her to be so welcoming and personable. We would definitely stay here again. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the kitchen chatting and wished there was a comfy chair or two there. Everything else was fine!
Cindy was a pleasant & helpful host. If you stay here, I recommend that you do make use of the sauna!
Great place to stay, a bit off the beaten bath. The apartment is exactly like the pictures.
Nice stay at Cindy'home with a warm welcome by the cats and all we need !
Montpelier is a lovely little town, so much pretty than Burlington...
Little coffees, antique shop, and every one is so nice !
Thank you Cindy ! Maybe we'll meet again this automn ! :)
I really wanted to be able to give a good review. The place was unkempt inside and out. It did not feel like it had been cleaned before our stay. It was not a comfortable place stay and I would not stay again.
The house is situated in a beautiful area in Vermont and we were really pleased to be told about the local cookout which we attended and enjoyed.
The house is quite remote and the drive way to the house involves a bit of off roading we were in a JEEP so were fine, but still found it a bit daunting. That said the owner manages fine in her mini.
The accommodation is self contained with basic furnishings. There was a kitchen to use through we didn't use any of the equipment.
This was my first AirBnB experience, and it was the perfect place. Cindy was a very welcoming host! We got stuck in traffic on the way in, but when we arrived everything was exactly as she said it would be. She even left out coffee and snacks for us! The area around Cindy's home is beautiful, and she had great tips on what to do and where to eat. I would definitely go back and stay here again.
