The cottage is connected to Lily Point Park, a beautiful 250 acre marine park with trails and about one mile of ocean beach and tidelands. The park is home to many families of bald eagles herons.
Welcome binder on entry table with useful information. House looked exactly like the pictures. Great hiking trails close by and a quick jaunt down to the beach. Easy to find!
Listing was good, host easy to deal with, and response prompt. Did not like having our money pulled out six months prior to going!
The Gingerbread cottage was a great place to relax for a couple days. It was cute and quaint and had the basic necessities. The other cabins are very close to each other but we didn't see or hear anyone else. If you're looking for a close getaway to escape Vancouver it is perfect. It backs on to Lily Point Park which we enjoyed exploring. We saw three owls, orcas, many eagles, hares, king fisher etc.
My boyfriend and I have a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Gingerbread Cottage and would highly suggest booking this place if you're looking for some good R&R and easy access to some really beautiful hiking trails directly behind the cottage. We saw breathtaking views and lots of wildlife, including Eagles. Point Roberts itself is an interesting place, with lots of kind, helpful people. We both came home feeling fresh and rejuvenated : )
Pat provides a beautiful quiet setting in the woods. The cottage was the perfect size for the 2 of us and our small dogs. The fireplace warmed the place adequately and the efficient kitchen is good for small meals. There is a trail behind the cottage that leads to the beach, a perfect way to start your morning. We found the shower/toilet combo worked well for a short stay. I do recommend you bring some blankets for lounging/snuggling in the living room. And if you're from the city like us, you're going to love waking up to birds! The only issue: Roku streaming was having some issues, but that may just be the Pt. Bob area. We would definitely return to Pat's place.
My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Gingerbread cottage. It was cute and cozy and the perfect little getaway. The cottage is pretty small, but it was the perfect size for just the two of us and our kitten. During our stay I found that the propane tank in the heat lamp on the upstairs balcony was empty, and Pat was quick to offer to fully reimburse me if I chose to get it refilled at the station down the street. One thing to note is that the bathroom is very small. It's about the size of a closet, and if I wanted I could have sat on the toilet and showered at the same time (I didn't, but that gives you an idea of the size). Another thing to note is that there are three buildings on the property, the other two where much closer together, with the Gingerbread cottage a bit more off to the side of the property, giving it a more private feel. Overall we absolutely loved our stay here and would happily choose this cottage again if we ever stay in Point Roberts in the future.
We enjoyed our stay at the Gingerbread Cottage in Point Roberts! It is as cute and quaint as it looks in the pictures. The trails were easily accessible leading to a beautiful view of the ocean and islands. Thank you!

About the Host, Pat
I am a big believer in the concept of 'sacred spaces'. The 'big' cottage is a good example of that. I believe that the space we inhabit has a huge effect on our 'present' and consequently our 'future'.
I just finished work on another cottage at Lily Point that further refines the concept of using space to create intimacy and well being.
