The Neighborhood

The sunsets, the location, the beachy vibe......My corner lot property has an expansive view of the western sky.......

Abbot Kinney is a short drive and is on fire with shops and eateries. The Marina Marketplace is a short walk; with a dine-in theater and great shops and eateries.....

I love having guests....An innkeeper by trade....this place is comfortable and inviting, and the sunsets are spectacular.

Getting around

Bus lines everywhere, to everywhere. Not needed though, as you can walk to almost everything.....

Parking is free and plentiful. No need to move your car for street cleaning! This is important because the fines can be pricey in Los Angeles......

Other Things to Note

The Suite is a serene place to come back to after a full day of activities....Safe to walk around, with a real neighborhood vibe.

Temperatures in the Marina area of Los Angeles are pretty consistently low 60's at night and mid to high 70's in the day. It is a desert climate. As a result, the suite does not have A/C, but there are plenty of fans available if you need them.

  • My fiance and I had a great stay at Lesley's suite. The suite was spacious and comfortable and just as beautiful as shown in the listing photos. The neighborhood was quiet and there was ample parking available. Lesley was very responsive and replied to emails immediately. We would definitely recommend this suite to any friends visiting the area. Thank you for your hospitality!

  • Lesley was accommodating and professional. She was a wonderful host and we highly recommend her suite for all travelers to the Venice beach area.

  • We only met Lesley as we were checking out; we just didn't cross paths the three days we were there... The suite is lovely, as depicted. Clean and large. The only drawback was no air-conditioning. It was fairly hot the nights we were there. We didn't feel comfortable opening the street-level sliding door (as she mentioned), so we had the ceiling fan and another fan on all night, but it was warm. I understand a/c is expensive, but it would have made sleeping more comfortable as there was no way to get a cross-breeze... ;)

We also found that there was just sporadic bits of stuff to help us eat our breakfast. I think we used the paper plates that someone else had purchased? There were paper cups and some pieces of cutlery. It would have been helpful to have some basics - bowls, plates, glasses - even in plastic - for breakfast use. You could leave a note and dish detergent and ask that guests wash them. We would have been happy to do that. There were some snack items and condiments left for us.

Appreciated the fact that we could get in earlier to drop off our luggage.

Parking was right outside. The neighbourhood is sweet, and walkable. Loved looking at all the gardens. We were a few minutes drive to Venice Beach, Abbot Kinney, and even Costco! On nearby Washington Blvd we had some nice meals (try the A-Frame or Sunny Spot) and found a great chocolate shop where they do chocolate tastings! We enjoyed living in Marina del Ray and liked the spacious accommodation.

  • Loved staying at Lesley's wonderful place. Very cute and cozy and in an excellent location in Marina del Rey. 5 min walk to good food, groceries and a movie theater.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We enjoyed being able to walk and go for a run. Laundry place is around the block also.

The only two things to note: the entrance is close to the sidewalk and in the morning you def hear people talking as they walk by. Also, on Mondays, there is garbage collection which involves multiple trucks and they are quite loud.

I suggest you also pack cutlery if you plan to eat at the house as there isn't a kitchen (just a microwave and coffee maker and small fridge). Plenty enough for us but we did end up buying some plastic spoons and a knife to have breakfast at home.

Thanks for a wonderful stay! Lesley was very friendly and welcoming!

    Response from Lesley:

    Thanks Gosha....

The noise may have been because you left the sliding glass door open in the night....This is not advisable anywhere you live, particularly in cities. My home is located in a very nice neighborhood, but it was a little bit awkward when I could hear your activities from the front yard. You have to remember that you're in someone's home, not a hotel......

The suite is stocked with all kinds of things, including plastic knives and forks, paper plates, cups, etc.....not sure what happened there.......

Glad that you had a good time though.........

  • We had a great stay at Lesley's place! Everything was exactly as it looked from the photos and the location was very convenient to a lot great shops and food. Parking was fine - a few times we had to park around the block.

Lesley always responded promptly and gave us the information we needed. The rooms were clean and fresh. Highly recommend!!

    Response from Lesley:

I'd love to supply coffee but it would up the price for everyone. The suite is a tremendous value in an area where comparable hotels go for $300 or more a night! I'm glad you enjoyed it......

Parking is free and plentiful. Most times you get to park right in front of the suite itself!

  • If you looking for a great place to stay, this is it.You feel like home, the moment you step in.
This place is awesome and in a quiet and safe area. Even though, I didn´t get the chance to meet Lesley, everything went great. She was always quick with answering ,even let me take my bicycle inside. This cute little appartment has everthing you need. The bed is really comfortable. Only 5-10 min away from the beach, 2 min to Albertson and parking is no problem.
    I would definintly stay again!!

  • So this was my first time in Los Angeles. I was so excited! Looking forward to seeing and feeling the beauty and the charm of this city:) from the very beginning we didn't know where to stay, we did a lot of research.
Lesley's place is a gem. It is a place where I would want to go back again and again. Every time My friend and I were coming back to the suite we were wining how that would be great to stay there forever.
It is super clean! The bathroom is better than in Starwood. Lesley is a very friendly and welcoming host. We had a pleasure to catch her so we had a minute to chat. She told us how to get to the places we need. She also left notes where to find good restaurants in the area.

Oh ! And I can't mention the bed. I am kind of person who sleeps very sensitive. Usually I woke up with a very bad neck pane if the bed is not comfortable for me. And that always gives me troubles while traveling.

But this bed is amazing :)
I definitely would want to stay there again next Time I am in LA. And I hope that would be soon!

    Enjoy your stay guys:)

  • This was a gem of a guest annex. I really loved the Meditteranean coastal decor. Affordable, close to the beach, great parking, quiet street, and most importantly, accomodating host. Lesley made sure that I was able to check in conveniently when she was not there. Our transactions went smoothly although we didn't get a chance to meet. I would highly recommend this spot for airbnb travelers.

Hello Dear Guest! I am a licensed clinical social worker and area realtor. I am also degreed in hotel and restaurant management. Being an innkeeper comes naturally to me. Born and raised on the east coast, I have lived out here for over 25 years..I still have family there, so I go back often. In my heart, I have two places I call home. My travels have taken me to many interesting places, where I've met a great variety of people and experienced the uniqueness of their cultures. As a therapist, I love to meet new people and welcome them to my area. I know California well and am very established in Los Angeles. I also appreciate the hesitations and considerations of the traveller, which is why my knowledge as a local host is so useful. I am always available for suggestions or problem solving, and unlike a hotel, it's nice to know that someone has their eye out for you when you're away from home.
