SOMETHING MORE ABOUT LOCATION:
To have a location close to the bus station or train station, is not to be understimated in this city full of bridges and with few means of transport!
This is an area still far from the frenetic tourism, fortunatly, even if it is just a few steps from the train station.
If you want to take a walk just 5 min far from the house is the Frari Church, one of the greatest churches in the city with works of Canova and Donatello, it has the status of a minor basilica. It stands on the Campo dei Frari.
The house is also located a few steps from Campo San Rocco, a jewel of Venetian architecture.
You are 5 minutes by walking from a water bus stop, and you can go across the entire Canal Grande till San Mark square seeing all the beautiful Venetian palaces in a different perspective of Venice.
If you want you can walk to the Rialto Bridge (15 min) and Piazza San Marco, it is just ( 20 min), i suggest you not to follow the people, but to get lost in the alleys and experience what a wonderful labirynt is this city (and if you spend here the necessary time, you will also find out that isn't so difficoult to get orientation).
NOT ONLY VENICE
If you stay here a few days, i suggest you to not visit only Venice but also the others isles of the lagoon: Murano, Burano, Torcello and St Erasmo are just near by with boat and keeps some amazing and traditional aspects of the lagoon's life-stile (from the hand fabrication of glass to the coltivation of specials artichokes and the hand making of fine laces).
December, jenuary and february, even if the largest part of people think that are not a good time to take a visit, are the months in which you can easily taste a tipical venecian life. Usually the weather isn't so cold and there are less tourists all around: that means lower prices and less waiting in restaurants and to enter in museums. In the whole winter, there is the possibility to experience " high water ": the streets can be invaded by the canals's water, if there is an exceptionally high tide (is not so usual but coud be a funny experience!), but is not a big deal to handle it. You can do like venetian people by going out with a pair of rubber boots and enjoy this particular day!
I stay in venice just 1day. I think is very beautiful city. I want to go it again
It was an amazing trip at Alice house ! She's a very nice host and take care about her guests !
Thank u Alice !
Très bon séjour chez Alice, très attentionnée ! :)
Charming person and nice room. I stayed at Alice's place for 3 nights. And it was a pleasant experience. Alice's flat is clean, equipped and well decorated near to the train station, but not too closed to the city center, which is very important if you want to see the Venitiens's routine life. Alice is a very kind host who gave us good suggestions for our stay in Venice. Accommodation to be recommended.
L'appartamento è accogliente, calda, pulita, wifi eccellente. La casa è silenziosa, si dorme veramente bene.
Alice is a very helpful host. She picks you up from the station so you don't get lost. As an architect, Alice has many thoughtful insights to the city's buildings. She also provides excellent recommendations for sights to see and restaurants to visit.
The room is conveniently located, warm and clean and the neighborhood is quiet, with no noises during the night to disrupt your sleep.
Alice is the sweeteat host i even met!
Careing, respectful, she sent us a map to gudie the way to her house which is extremely close to the train station , only 5 mins by walk.
The weather was bad when we stayed in Venice, raining all day long, Alice have prepared us a pair of water proof shoes. How sweet she is!
The room is cozy , private but convenience .
Would definitely recommend the room to all of you.
Really nice place, great host who picked me up late at night from the bus station. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone
Alice est une personne remarquable qui nous a merveilleusement accueilli ! Merci Alice !
From the moment Alice met us at the train station holding a daisy, we felt at home. She is helpful, interesting and great company. The apartment is extremely convenientt and immaculately clean. Sharing a bathroom was easy and the laundromat is nearby.
Highly recommended!! Alice is a very nice host. She introduces Venice architectural attractions and favorite restaurant to us. Her place is located in very convenient location, away from the railway station and waterbus stop only a few minutes. The room and environment is very clean and pleasant. Especially the daily breakfast, Alice's homemade jam is very good!
