Camper by the bay is a modern beach house with 5 ensuite bedrooms offering exceptional views of the Arabian sea and direct access to Cherai beach. We ideally host out-of town groups of 10-12, family get togethers, anniversaries, bachelors/bachelorettes, baby showers, birthday day parties, team outings and so on. You’ll love the ambiance, the sunset, the neighbourhood, and our staff.

A Lovely beach and beautiful sunsets

The 18 km long Cherai Beach is the one of the most popular beaches of Ernakulam district aka Kochi city. The beach is shallow and ideal for swimming and sunbathing except for the monsoon season(July-Sep), the sunsets are vivid and a sight in itself, dolphins are also seen regularly. Unique to Cherai the neighbourhood has narrow roads, lagoons and the world famous kerala backwaters. We are located just 500m from the main beach promenade with a large number of cafes, restaurants and beach activities.

Our Villa features all modern amenities one would expect, a large living room with comfortable seating, a fully equipped open kitchen with fridge, microwave, filtered water and all necessary cutlery and crockery. A dining space for 8 and 2 large balconies with plush seating arrangements. 5 air-conditioned bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. Our master bedroom offers the best lookout on the entire beach. The villa also has a large open garden area for kids play time or even to host a small ceremony.

Food and dinning options

Our staff freshly prepares a south-india breakfast which is complimentary with your stay, a customisable set-menu for lunch 450p/p and dinner 500 p/p dinner is also available on request. Our neighbouring village Munambam is known for the freshest and widest variety of seafood, my cook is well versed in its availability and preparation.
A webber BBQ gas grill is also available to rent @1500

My people at the villa

My caretaker, Mr. Roy who has been with us for many years will be available round the clock along with my cook and cleaners who are all from the neighbourhood. We have 2 guards and a surveillance system at the villa for added safety and security. I live in Kochi city and just a phone call away.

- The smaller bedroom has a queen size bunk bed

- There is a TV in the master bedroom and living room
- The ground floor has the dining room along with access to the pool deck
- Fresh linen and pillows are provided in all rooms
- Wardrobes are provided in all the rooms except the smaller room.

Living Room:

- The exquisite living area offers comfortable sofa and 50 inch tv with subs to amazon prime, Netflix.
- Includes a 10-seater dining table
- The living area is not air-conditioned but we have large sliding doors & fans
- Bluetooth speaker is available for guest use
- Board games, carrom board and other fun pastimes available
- We have a makeshift basketball hoop in our parking area

Kitchen:

- We have a full-fledged kitchen with cooking equipment
- Basic requirements are available in the cabinets
- The state-of-the-art kitchen is fitted with 4 burner gas hob
- We also have a coffee machine, microwave and induction cooker.

Swimming Pool:

- The villa has a small plunge pool with a max depth of 7ft.
- Ideally suited for 5-6 adults at a time.
- The pool area overlooks the beach in its front and an open deck looks out onto a tropical garden area.

FYI

Our villa is about 30 kilometres away from Kochi city and takes about an hour to reach. From Grand Hyatt Bolgatty take Goshree bridges towards Vypeen. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Pallipuram Rd.. Straight 30km drive to Cherai town follow directions to the beach at the main beach promenade take the turn towards Munambam and head around 900m-1km we are on the beach-ward side.

The beach house is almost 20 years old and i have been renting it on/off for 5 years now. My caretaker can understand English but is much more comfortable in our local language if you have any communication issues i will be available to resolve it as soon as possible.

We try our very best to keep the villa spick and span but we are at a constant battle with the beach, we constantly struggle with electronic device damages due to its direct exposure to salty beach air, our A/C's, TVs, Refrigerators are replaced almost every other year.

Power back-up

We have a diesel generator that powers all fans and lights upto 8 hrs, A/C's do not have power back up at this moment. Generally we do not face any electrical cuts in Cherai.

Hi greetings from "Gods own country", my name is Swahel K George, i am a businessman presently based in Kochi, Kerala. We have been hosting our close friends and family from all across at our villa in cherai for the last 15 years, after our recent renovations in 2015 we decided to open up our home to outside guests. Like everyone else the pandemic has had a devastating impact on our business with long closures and lockdowns, sadly our popular hostel "happy camper" in fort kochi is permanently closed. My family still owns and operates one of the oldest hotels in Munnar (a hill station in Kerala) and i have always had great interests in hosting, food and travelling.
