ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Formerly a sparsely populated industrial area, the South Loop is now home to a thriving mixed community of young professionals, students of nearby colleges, empty nesters and Chicago’s former Mayor Richard M. Daley. The neighborhood features notable historical landmarks that include the 1836 Clarke House, one of Chicago’s oldest residences; a diverse dining scene; blues clubs and other nightlife options; and the convenience of the Museum Campus and Loop and McCormick Place a short stroll away.
An excellent stay. The condo was quite spacious for one person and was very nicely decorated. It was cozy, comfortable, quiet, and within easy reach of transportation. Tee Lam was a very pleasant and accommodating host. I have stayed in a lot of hotels of all sorts on various continents and this was nicer than most of them.
It's a perfect base for visiting IIT as it only takes a few minutes to walk to the campus.
Tee was a very responsive host and allowed us to leave our belongings in his place until late afternoon. The condo is located in the heart of the city of Chicago and is was a breeze to get around and walk the city or grab a taxi right away. The place itself was very clean and comfortable with a really good heating system since it was sometimes even 0 degrees outside. We loved staying here and I would highly recommend this location to everybody, especially since the host is easy to talk to and makes you feel like you're at home.
Tee Lam has a great place. Our booking was last minute and I was so thankful that he was able to accommodate us on such short notice. The room is set up very well with almost everything you could ask for. My daughter and I were very comfortable there the night that we stayed.
The pictures definitely show the room cleaner than I found it. With a $25/day cleaning fee, I expected the place to be clean. I don't know when the rental had last been dusted. I ended up having a sinus headache the entire time. The check-in/out process was easy.
It was a great cozy place, tee made sure we had we during we needed
Amazing location, easy walking distance to anywhere we wanted to go in Chicago! It was a great home base for our first visit there. It's a quirky little place that grows on you.
Tee's apartment was very cozy and was perfect for a weekend in the city! It was a great location--right by the red line and a Walgreens. Tee was a great host and answered my many questions quickly! I would definitely stay here again, thanks Tee!
It was a great stay!!! :)
The apartment was nice and cozy but there were ants in the kitchen. I'm sure due to the crazy cold weather but still it was a little bit of a first impression killer. The owner was nice and helpful but it was odd that he asked me to not speak to the other tenants about AirBNB. Overall everything was okay.
I apologize about the ants situation. As we all know Chicago have been going through some major weather condition this winter and it has cause a few issues. This ant situation will be handle asap. Next time please let me know about your issue right at check in or during your stay and I will get attend to them to make your stay more enjoyable.
The location was the best thing about this Airbnb. The towels and bedding were clean too at least. Check-in was also pretty easy.
However, the apartment itself wasn't that clean. There seemed to be hair everywhere. Another issue is the second bed (not really a bedroom) is located on the side with the main street and there seemed to be gaps in the window right next to it so cold air was coming in and a lot of noise all through the night. Also, we kept smelling cigarette smoke in the apartment. There was definitely no shampoo or soap. Luckily, I had a bar of soap on me. All of my other Airbnb experiences have been much better than this for the price so I guess my expectations were higher than what we encountered here.
I am sorry that the place wasn't clean, I wish you would have communicated that with us and we could have send back the housekeeper. Like I mentioned in the House Manuel I sent to you prior to booking, I encourage all my guest to call or text me for any concerns anytime. In regards to the second bed it's clearly explained that the space is a loft style room and you can also see it in the picture. This unit is also located downtown near the hustle and bustle. The house manual also states that we do not provide personal items such as soap, lotion etc... because of liability issues. Again I apologize for your experience but I must say you should have read the House Manuel and called us for your issues. All my previous guests had had an amazing experience at my unit.
