  • Helen was a great host; friendly, helpful and accommodating while remaining respectful of our privacy. The neighborhood is of larger 1 to 2 acre lots with mature desert landscaping. It's quiet, very private with lots of great plantings all around. The patio is wonderful. A great place to have morning coffee and an evening glass of wine while grilling a few steaks. Helen provided us a small grill and the mesquite wood to go with it. It's well located, close to stores, services and the river walk. If you're looking for a quiet, authentic Arizona experience, I'd highly recommend it.

  • We feel Helen needs to say that there is a cat at the property as one of has allergies and had to take medication during our stay. Unfortunately we found the beds a little uncomfortable as you could feel the bed springs when you turned over. Wifi was intermittent and limited and in this day and age is a bit unusual. Having said this the accommodation is roomy and quiet.

  • We had a great time at Helen's. She was very welcoming and her place was exactly as described. It was very quiet and in a good location for exploring the Tucson area. We enjoyed the patio and the quails that scoot about the yard! We would stay here again, for sure!

  • My mom and I stayed at Helen's getaway during a recent weekend trip to Tucson.

We appreciated Helen's hospitality - fresh bagels and fruit, accommodating with our check-in time, friendly and helpful - as well as the magical location. The resident mourning doves and bunny were great companions for our morning coffee.

The location was great, as well - halfway between downtown and the canyons where we spent our days.

  • You get exactly what the photos show. It is perfectly located close to town, yet secluded and quiet. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Helen was great! TV could have had more channels (just a couple of English speaking stations), but for the price who can complain. Plan to stay there again next time I visit Tucson.

  • Helen's place was perfect for me and my friends. The mini-kitchen allowed us to perpare and eat breakfast every day and we could also put together our lunches to take with us for our days out. When we returned in the evening we would sit around the table and couch and chat. Overall a very warm and cozy place and the location was perfect for our needs. We will be booking it again next year.

  • This was a great find for our two day stay in Tucson in that for a reasonable price we got a living room/mini kitchen, large bedroom, very nice large bathroom and separate entrance. It's an easy 10 min drive to central Tucson and about three minutes to the main freeway.

  • I greatly enjoyed my stay at Helen's quaint in-law unit. The space was very comfortable and relaxing, and the location was very convenient--it felt removed and peaceful, but it was still close to everything I needed (grocery store, shopping, etc). Helen is a gracious host who makes you feel welcome, and also leaves you to enjoy yourself. I found the electric blanket to be a nice, unexpected bonus that helped me stay nice and cozy at night, and I slept very well. The small kitchen area has a microwave, hot plate, and small fridge, so I was able to cook a nice meal in one of the nights during my stay as well. All in all, a very positive experience in a comfortable home!
