Kayak the Wailua River in Wailua River State Park, take a boat ride to the Fern Grotto, or take photos at Opaekaa Falls. Don’t forget to try and spot the Sleeping Giant in the Nounou Mountains or take a hike up this scenic ridge. Sacred places like Polihau Heiau, the large lava-rock temple of Kauai’s last king, Kaumualii, can also be found on the East Side. And be sure to visit Kapaa Town to discover fine Hawaiian craft pieces, aloha-print shirts, jewelry and art.
But the golden beaches of the Coconut Coast may be the area’s biggest draw. Unwind at Anahola Beach Park, whale watch at Donkey Beach or watch the surfers at Kealia Beach to the north. Lydgate Beach Park in Wailua has two lava rock enclosed ocean pools that are perfect places for families and first-time snorkelers. Fun in the sun awaits you on the Coconut Coast.

We had a very comfortable month at Michelle and Serafin's home. They were very friendly and helpful. Their central location worked well for exploring all of Kauai in detail.
We want to thank Michelle and Serafin for her kindness to host US during the last fixe dass. We felt us between friends like home...

We had a great time and Michelle and Serafin are super friendly hosts, giving advice about where to go and to make your stay special. We would definately recommend to stay with them. Basically you rent a whole house, because you are allowed to use the kitchen, the living room and the giant porch. There is everything you need to enjoy your stay on the beautiful garden isle.
Our stay in Michelle & Sarafin's beautiful home was truly like a "home away from home" with all the amenities you could ask for, including access to the washer & dryer. If you like to cook, you will certainly enjoy the exceptional kitchen. The neighborhood was close to Kappa beaches, Wailua River & Falls ( a suggested kayak trip) and the Smith Family Hawaiian Luau. Parking and access to your room was great too. Michelle & Sarafin were friendly and generous with their hospitality and access to their beautiful home. Thank you both for a nice stay !
We LOVED our stay at Michelle an Serafin! They are both so kind! The house is pretty nice and Serafin is keeping it like that (painting, doing garden work... seems to be a hobby ;-) ). We had nice talks to them and got really good advises. Thanks so much you made our stay on Kauai unforgettable!
Michelle and Serafin are too very energetic, welcoming and kind people. A really nice couple. My girlfriend and I wish we had been able to stay more nights with them. Their cats are really special too. ;-)
Michelle and Serafin welcomed us warmly, showed us around the house & introduced us to the cats. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, and the house airy & comfortable. We were welcome to use the living room, and the washer & dryer were a lifesaver. Parking was no problem and we were treated to a farewell dinner the night before departure.
We would definitely stay here again.

About the Host, Michelle
We are Michelle and Serafin, we are empty nesters, looking to meet people who love to travel and share our beautiful island. I was raised on Oahu until I was 10 years old, then went to boarding school in London, England to study classical ballet, Serafin was raised in LA, moved to Kauai in 1972 and has made Kauai his home ever since. We look forward to meeting you soon, come share our aloha.
Wailua Falls is an amazing waterfall dropping 80-feet below into a pristine crystal clear lagoon. Wailua Falls can be seen from the roadside lookout.
ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls is a waterfall located on the Wailua River in Wailua River State Park. It is a 151–foot waterfall that flows over basalt from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago.
The Smith Family of Kauai's Wailua River Valley offers a unique two mile river cruise on their spacious open air cruise boats which provide excellent views along the Wailua River.
Lydgate Beach Park is 10 mins away. The two rock enclosed ponds create a safe haven from the open ocean waves, while still allowing the small reef fish to move into the pond through the crevices.
The East Side is Kapaa Town, a great area for shopping on Kauai. There are many shops that offer a variety of groceries and eateries. You can find many activity shops that carry everything you need.
Hanakapi'ai Falls isn't a waterfall most visitors will ever see. Nestled deep inside Hanakapi'ai Valley on the Na Pali coast, it'll take some effort to reach.
Hanakapi’ai Beach on the North Shore of Kauai is very secluded and majestic.
The Kalalau Trail is an 11 mile trail that leads from Ke’e Beach to Kalalau Beach along the Na Pali Coast on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. Please vis(website hidden)com for more details.
