I am a very social person, for the most part, I love meeting people and learning about what interests them, where they have traveled or anything else they are willing to share about themselves. Serafin is a very quiet person, who usually keeps to himself.
We have three small, short-haired cats named Kiwi, Calliann and Mr. Gato who share our living space.
Our home is simple, comfortable, clean and peaceful. We welcome guests who want a comfortable and peaceful place to stay while they explore this magical island.
If this Cozy Queen Room is unavailable, please checkout our Cozy King Room for availability.
No smoking indoors, however we have a wrap-around deck where you are most welcome to smoke.
Our home is located on the edge of the Wailua River State Park and the Wailua Complex of Heiaus. In Wailua, you’ll find a variety of sightseeing opportunities and outdoor activities. Kayak the Wailua River in Wailua River State Park, take a boat ride to the Fern Grotto, or take photos at Opaekaa Falls. Don’t forget to try and spot the Sleeping Giant in the Nounou Mountains or take a hike up this scenic ridge. Sacred places like Polihau Heiau, the large lava-rock temple of Kauai’s last king, Kaumualii, can also be found on the East Side. And be sure to visit Kapaa Town to discover fine Hawaiian craft pieces, aloha-print shirts, jewelry and art.
But the golden beaches of the Coconut Coast may be the area’s biggest draw. Unwind at Anahola Beach Park, whale watch at Donkey Beach or watch the surfers at Kealia Beach to the north. Lydgate Beach Park in Wailua has two lava rock enclosed ocean pools that are perfect places for families and first-time snorkelers. Fun in the sun awaits you on the Coconut Coast.
There is a bus system here on Kauai, however it's recommended that you rent a car.

Fabulous home and hosts. Beautiful environment, especially the early morning sunrises. The open, comfortable deck provided the perfect place to enjoy our breakfast and watch the sun come up. And though our hosts were exceptional, it really was the cats that made our stay so enjoyable. Loved the kittens.
We only stayed one night, but enjoyed the accommodations and Michelle's warm hospitality. Nice room near Kapaa and the airport, a fine base for exploring the island.
Nothing but kind words for this amazing AirBNB experience! Michelle and Serafin are the best hosts you can imagine. We had some really nice conversations and they made us feel very welcome in their house. They provided us with great advises on where to do groceries (Papaya's is the nicest supermarket around!) and which places to visit. Their kitchen is fully equipped so we cooked at their place most of the time. Sharing a similar view on food, Michelle let us try her amazing lentil soup (recipe provided by another visitor!) and some other nice dishes. Also, we loved playing with their cat Calliann. The room is comfortable and has both air conditioner and a ceiling fan, so you can choose which one you prefer. If we ever have the chance to go back to Kaua'i, we will definitely stay here again!
It was my first experience with AirBnb and I couldn't wish for better hosts than Michelle and Serafin! They are such an exceptional hosts - very pleasant people. They know everything about island and will be your best guide. Their house is beautiful! The room where I stayed was fantastic: very cozy and nice. I rate me experience - 10 out 5 stars.
Michelle and Serafin could not have been more hospitable! Lovely, spacious, clean-as-a-whistle room -- and an adorable cat named Kelly Ann. Location great for easy access north and south.
Michelle and Serafin were such gracious hosts. They truly opened their home to us and made us feel like family. This was our first Airbnb experience and we were a little hesitant about it, but we felt so comfortable and welcomed in their home. We cooked almost every night. Having access to their laundry was so appreciated. They also had snorkel gear and beach towels for us to use. They were sweet enough to invite us to their super bowl party. Michelle even helped take care of my husband our last night when he got a migraine, providing Tylenol and a heating pack. We highly recommend staying with Michelle and Serafin! Staying with locals as sweet as them is far superior to a hotel experience.
Michelle's house and hospitality were amazing. From the time we arrived to the end of our 6 night stay we had no complaints. Michelle's house is very clean, beautiful, easy to get to, and has a magnificent view. Not only is Michelle's house the perfect place to stay, she is the perfect host. Being this was our first experience with airbnb, we weren't sure what to expect. We had our privacy and our own entrance but we also had the great pleasure of making a new friend. Michelle, her husband, and the cats made us feel welcome and comfortable. We stayed in the Country Cozy Queen room and that is exactly what it was! We were only a few miles from the beach and waterfalls. It was very easy to get around to all sides of the island from there. Not only do we miss the island but we miss Michelle. She is a very kind and respectful. She has a heart of gold, has a beautiful smile and a soul that shines. She helped us with directions, locations and interesting facts about Kauai. Jason and I decided before we left that we will be back to stay again. We had full access to the kitchen, living room, huge balcony with a view, BBQ included (which we used).
We had a lovely stay. The host and hostess are very nice and the room is quite spacious. The location is convenient as it is centrally located on the east side of the island. There is great hiking at the end of the road.
very welcoming host, nice bedroom, very comfty beds, very clean, convenient location, sweet cats, very nice kitchen/living room, patio with great views. Michelle will asign you your own cupboard space for your private food if needed, she also offers to use her great washing machine & dryer as well as to barbeque on the patio to your likes.
What a great experience! Just driving up the road to get there you pass beautiful waterfalls, great views of the sea and the Wailua River with its kayakers and boats.. The house is just passed a huge mango tree with great views of the valley from the lenai. Great views of sunrise and the sky in general. HJust watching the stars at night is a treat. The room was clean and very comfortable and we had free access to the kitchen, laundry room and lenai (porch). Michel and Serafin were extremely friendly and helpful and very welcoming. The house is very convenient to the airport and is centrally located on the island and convenient to explore both the north and south side. Beaches are a short drive down the hill Many restaurant and grocery shopping within a few miles. This place is a home run. I would not hesitate to go back again.
