Come visit our 4BR, 2BA home on Case Inlet, the most pristine waterway of South Puget Sound. The waterfront view, hot tub and home receive great reviews. The house sits just 30 steps from the beach. We have been renting the house for the past 6-years.
Come and visit Case Inlet, the most pristine waterway of South Puget Sound, and find our cozy waterfront cottage waiting to embrace you. Our Allyn home is 1760 square feet, with four bedrooms and two baths. Oak floors and trim, beautiful rugs and photographs, tiled countertops and a slate fireplace surround are some of the details that make the cottage an inviting place to spend your vacation.
Whimsical tropical fish, trellises and a view of the bay through an arched gate greet you upon entering the fenced property. The kitchen, dining room and living room are all open to the water view. A three level deck adds to the living space. The hot tub provides an outstanding view of Case Inlet. After a soak you can spend time on the comfortable chaise lounges or have lunch under the wisteria. Serve your guests at the outdoor bar. The beach is just twenty steps from the deck across the landscaped yard. Enjoy the fire pit and Adirondack chairs at waters edge.
Low tide reveals an immense beach for exploring, clam digging and collecting a few oysters to barbecue for dinner. The bay is great for water sports. It is warm enough in the summer, by Northwest standards, for a quick dip. Bring your power boat, kayaks, windsurfers, and fishing gear. Kayak rentals are available just down the beach. Three salmon runs bring fish right in front of the house in the fall. Watching the salmon jump and splash is an amazing site!
The kitchen is well stocked to meet your food preparation needs. The large island has four chairs for casual dining. A long countertop next to the dining room is perfect for a buffet setup. The dining room table can seat eight or more people and a second table can be set up for additional guests. The comfortable upholstered chairs, stained glass chandelier and the view provide a memorable setting for meals.
The living room has a wide-screen HDTV and DVD with surround sound. An upstairs bedroom has a TV with DVD/VCR, books, games, videos, and two full size futon sofa beds. Kids can claim this room while the adults are downstairs.
The Case Inlet view from the master bedroom on the second floor is exquisite. Curling up in the comfortable queen bed or on the love seat in this room, with a warm drink and a book will define the word 'vacation'! The third upstairs bedroom has a queen bed. The upstairs has some areas of low headroom. One bedroom with a queen bed is located on the main floor.
The house is located in the center of this small town and everything you might need is within a few minutes walk of your door. You can stroll down the beach to a waterfront restaurant and sports bar, and just a bit further to the Allyn Waterfront Park, pier and dock (moorage available). Buy an espresso, a meal or groceries and return to your private retreat.
Explorations by water from Allyn include Fair Harbor Marina, Stretch, and Treasure Islands, Pickering Passage, Olympia, and points beyond. The book South Puget Sound Afoot and Afloat is a great guide to the area. The 27-hole Lakeland Village Golf Course is minutes away. Other great courses including Trophy Lakes and Gold Mountain are within a thirty minute drive. The area is known for it's ATV trails, nearby lakes, and access to the Olympic Peninsula, Olympic National Park, and Hood Canal. The cities of Belfair, Shelton, Gig Harbor and Bremerton are nearby for additional shopping and dining opportunities. Belfair has a large waterfront nature preserve with walking trails. You can drive to Seattle (90 minutes) via Tacoma or take a 20-mile drive to Bremerton and a spectacular, 55-minute ride on the Washington State Ferry System directly to downtown Seattle.
The beach is right out the door. I have a canoe you may use. There are tools for digging clams.
Interaction with Guests
My house keepers live next door. I can be contacted by cell phone.
The focus of the property is the water. The little town of Allyn has a waterfront restaurant and bar, a Mexican restaurant, a burger joint, grocery store and a nice espresso place with indoor seating. You can rent kayaks just down the street and take a stroll to the Allyn waterfront park and pier.
You will need a car.

Thank you for staying in Allyn!!!
Fantastic house in a great location. Really enjoyed our stay. Super nice neighbors.
We were very pleased with our stay at Dave's house in Allyn. It was clean, organized, comfy, and plenty big for 8 adults and our dogs. Dave was responsive to all of my questions about the kitchen (we were there for Thanksgiving), dogs, etc., and often replied within an hour. The kitchen is big and great for cooking for a big group. The house is in a convenient part of town - 2 blocks to a small market and half a block to a coffee stand. We really enjoyed walking up and down the rocky beach at low tide and looking for sand dollars (and evidence of the recent salmon runs!). We brought our crab pots and found decent crabbing at Joemma Beach State Park about 30 min away. Even with 1+ inch of rain one day and freezing temperatures the next, this place was great and we'd love to come back!
Great house + lovely views make for a fantastic and relaxing weekend. Though we did get lost quite a few times getting here, it was definitely worth it. (If you are coming from Vancouver like we were, prepare for long bumper-to-bumper traffic through Seattle and Tacoma). The morning was crisp, so hanging out in the hot tub felt wonderful and at night, we had a fire going in the fire pit and did some stargazing. The kitchen was quite lovely, and it's great to see that garbage gets properly separated and recycled. We even saw deer on the beach in the morning when the tide was out!
We walked 5 minutes to grab an ice cream cone from a nearby store, and liquor is easily attainable at the nearby Market Place (which is open from 8-7). The gas station is open from 5am-8pm. Best to buy your groceries elsewhere if you're looking to cook something extravagant, and bring your own basic cooking supplies like oil.
Overall, a great weekend! Would probably come back.
This house was perfect for a weekend away with 7 women and we had a great time! We even walked down to enjoy the Allyn days salmon bake and geoduck festival over the weekend. The house is within easy walking distance to a mini-mart and 3 restaurants in Allyn. The kitchen was huge and the dining room was more than large enough for our group. The hot tub was an especially nice feature, as was the fire pit overlooking the water. The house was clean and the neighbors (who help take care of the house) were wonderful. We would definitely return to this house.
What a wonderful and relaxing time we had at Dave's cabin. We lucked out, and had a beautiful, sunny weekend. We frequented the local restaurants( just steps away from the cabin) and enjoyed beach combing!!! I have never seen so many shells and sand dollars since I was a kid!! We were here for our annual Girls Weekend(15 years so far), and we look forward to coming back. Thanks again Dave, for a most needed relaxing get away!!
The Hot-Tub is all you could ever ask for. Stunning view of the Sound. The Home is well kept, spacious, clean, and was a lovely end to a long-cross-country trip.
