The Space

Firstly, this apartment is located 2 minutes walk from The Junction Mall in Nairobi. The mall is has lots of restaurants, grocery stores, banks, large supermarket, cool coffee shops and pubs. Lots of folks from foreign countries live in this neighborhood.

The apartment has 3 bedrooms each of which has it's own bathroom. As a result, it's pretty convenient if a couple of people are travelling together. There's one kitchen and a super comfy living room with a dinning area

The internet is 8 Mb/s which is much faster than what you'd get in a hotel :)

I'm not usually in Nairobi since based in Dubai but there's a house-keeper who keeps everything organized. The apartment is also next to a bus stop and you can get cabs from The Junction Mall. I can also organize a car rental and driver for your convenience.

Interaction with Guests

I'm usually in Dubai so don't interact with the guests much. My sister or brother based in Nairobi will take good care of you though

  • Thank you Joseph for being a wonderful host to us. Despite the short notice, we were grateful to find the place exactly as described. The location is superb, easy to locate, close to a nice shopping mall. Spacious and quite peaceful if you need to rest, which is what we needed after a busy day. Mercy, was also friendly and happy to assist us whenever required.
I would consider staying there again. Thanks for the good work and keep it up.

  • The apartment is located in a great spot, but I would recommend dealing with someone who is located on site. The owner/manager isn't even there. It took a while to get things sorted and be aware: they aren't easy to work with. I would recommend somewhere else.

  • I had the pleasure of staying at Joseph's place when visiting my parents in Kenya recently. Overall my experience at Joseph's place was excellent. I appreciated and was grateful for the arrangements that Joseph and his sister Mercy made for transportation using Sam, an amazing taxi/private car driver. The communication between Joseph and myself prior to my arrival was also very timely, clear and highly responsive despite the over 10 hrs time difference. Any questions I had were answered thoroughly making me feel confident that all would go well with my visit. The customer care was above and beyond any you'd expect from high end concierge services.

The apartment is located in a very safe (24 hour gated security) and convenient neighborhood across from The Junction Mall, making it easy for me to have access to the best shopping in Nairobi without a commute. I was able to get all the healthy produce & groceries I needed to cook by walking a few minutes to the mall. I do Bikram yoga and was thrilled that the apartment was only a 7 minute drive to the yoga (email hidden)!

The apartment was clean, well furnished, spacious and had great wifi for fast internet connection. Great digital TV (Zuku) with lots of programs at your disposal. He left clear instructions on how to use the TV and wifi. The three bedrooms each has an ensuite toilet/shower which made it very convenient when my parents stayed with me. There is also an additional guest toilet/washroom. The overall energy of the apartment is good. I personally like the rugs on the wooden floors which made it even more cozy. Joseph thought of everything (at one point there was a neighborhood nighttime power outage for like 45 minutes but I was not worried because Joseph's apartment had an extra battery powered lantern that worked perfectly).

When I am next in Nairobi, I will make sure to stay at Joseph's apartment. Sam the driver is top notch! I used him every day during my stay and he was on time each time and very professional. Mercy was very responsive but not intrusive & Joseph made sure that all my needs were met.

My only issue was the firmness of the mattresses (which my parents loved but I prefer pillow-top type of mattresses). My understanding is that Joseph was due to deliver new mattresses before my visit (delayed by factory) which I am sure are now available for future guests.

Thank you Joseph for helping make my trip to Nairobi a stress-free one. Sure beats a hotel stay. I normally stay at the Serena when in Nairobi but now I have found a more comfortable, spacious & convenient place to stay in Nairobi.

  • The apartment is in very good shape and in a super convenient location. 3 min walk to Junction mall for breakfast, shopping, etc and easy to travel to other parts of town.

The place is large and in good shape, and in a quiet block.

About
I'm an avid supported of Arsenal FC and play lots of football/soccer. Love spending the weekends going out with friends or reading a good business book. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, I left to pursue a degree in Computer Science at MIT after high school. I worked for Microsoft in Seattle for about 2 years before moving to Dubai where I've been working for more than a year now. I travel quite a bit within Middle East and Africa as part of my job and as a result have a home in Dubai and also in Nairobi. I recently learned how to cook a steak :) Oh, and I'm loving how Arsenal is playing this season!
