I can see Light Rail Transit (LRT), UofM West Bank Campus & DT Mpls from my 2nd floor apartment windows. I am near Augsburg University and Fairview Hospital. My apartment is a centrally located, culturally diverse alternative to Downtown Minneapolis. Steps to restaurants/bars/shops!
My place is cosy and clean, and I put a lot of love into it. I want you to have a great stay in Minneapolis! I have 2 apartments in the same building. Please visit my profile for my other listing!

The space
Each apartment has its own entrance, so you will not share a hallway with other residents.
Take note: this apartment is on a busy street in a neighborhood with bars and restaurants. There is significant street noise in the larger bedroom. I lived here for 8 years and it never bothered me but I also grew up on a busy city street. I have provided a small white noise machine and ear plugs, if needed.
The back smaller bedroom is quieter.
This is a turn of the century building that has seen many inhabitants! It was originally built to board lumber mill and brewery workers so the apartments were split into many smaller rooms. I played off the vintage vibe with my own collection of furniture and contemporary art. I use memory foam mattresses for their antimicrobial properties as well as comfort. If you haven't tried memory foam yet, you wont be disappointed.
My apartment is 1 of 3 apartments on the second floor above a bike shop. Each apartment has its own back door and we share a front entrance.
I have 2 private bedrooms on each side of the apartment- one small with a full size bed and 1 large with a queen size bed. If you are 2 couples or 2 people, the apartment will accomodate you comfortably and with a fair amount of privacy. If you have kids, 3rd wheels, or are a large group, there is a single day bed with single pull out trundle that can sleep 2 more people. If you want to take your chances on comfort, I have a long mid-century couch an can point you towards extra sheets and blankets.
I have a free parking pass for the pay lot behind the building. You have to hang it from your rear view mirror and then return it to the apartment when you leave. It is really hard to replace so please do not forget to return it!
Update: my apartment is a Pokemon Go Poke Stop if you have any obsessed gamers in your group!

Where you’ll be

Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

The Cedar-Riverside neighborhood is named after the intersection of the two main avenues of the neighborhood, Cedar and Riverside. The neighborhood is triangular-shaped with three definitive boundaries: the Mississippi River on the east side, Interstate 94 on the south side, and Interstate 35W on the west side. Cedar-Riverside‘s history is nearly as old as Minneapolis'. In the late 1890s, the neighborhood was known as "Snoose Boulevard," with a thriving community of Scandinavian immigrants, many of whom worked in the milling and lumber industries on the Mississippi River. In the 1960s and 1970s, Snoose Boulevard turned from a quaint neighborhood to a beehive of hippies, intellectuals, actors, artists and musicians. Presently, the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood boasts the largest community of immigrants in the Twin Cities, continuing a long history of ethnic and cultural diversity.

I like to travel and love meeting travelers. I am originally from St. Paul but moved to Minneapolis while attending the University of Minnesota and have never moved back! I have lived in Wisconsin, Germany, Australia and Papua New Guinea. I have travelled to Morocco, Mexico, Cuba, Canada, Italy, Croatia, France, Thailand and China. I am a tidy guest and care about the impression I make. As a host, I hope your stay will be comfortable and you will enjoy what the Twin Cities has to offer! I like anything creative and colorful. I have a houseboat and make jewelry in my spare time:) I am a Realtor so if you are interested in buying in MN, I can send you in the right direction!
