Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We loved being in the heart of the hipster universe and left wishing we had another day or two just to explore Williamsburg (we mostly did Manhattan). Getting in and out of Manhattan was relatively easy with fairly easy walks (by NY standards) to the subway.

The place description seems taken from its alternative per-room rental, as it states one bedroom and holds 16+. It has four bedrooms and would generously hold 10 at best (if some of those are smaller peeps). Check-in/out states noon for both, but noon for out and 5 for in is really the case (it is much appreciated to be able to drop bags after noon, but cleaning isn't completed till 5).

The place is rented by the room, and would be great for the backpacker/hostel traveler, and the cleaning and preparation is done to that standard. The shower is great (a gazillion gallon per minute drencher), but the shower curtain was aggressively scary (it billows in with the cascade of water and is scummy gross).

Privacy is at the standard of the hostel as well, as the guy overseeing the place just walked in without knocking to get towels for another rental down the hall.

The beds are really great, and comfy, and it is roomy feeling with the loft ceilings, so the place is great if you have the understanding that it is more hostely than hotely and go in with that expectation. And it's still, as far as we could tell, a good price for what it is and the location.

  • Our host, Julian, was very easy to reach. He responded to e mails quickly. Instructions were clear. He left a friend in charge in his absence who was very responsive and easy to reach.

The neighborhood is wonderful. Very hip with lots of small shops and restaurants. Very safe with easy access to NYC

  • Had a great time at Julian's Sunny Modern Loft on Bedford! There's plenty of space for large groups (we were 8). We spend most of the time in the kitchen, which had a good selection of cookware and a nice stove/counter top set up. Location is super, easy to walk to all sorts of things. Beds were very nice, pletly of closet space too. There is a sunny side of the apartment and a shady one, so choose wisely when you pick your bed. The shower is fantastic, especially if you're tall. Sound system has an iPOD 4 jack or maybe could work with an RCA to mini stereo jack (in the closet) - it sounds great! Julian's friend Alex was around to quickly drop off some extra towels and give us some friendly advice on the neighborhood.

    Thanks Julian (and Alex)!

  • Julian was very accommodative and laid back which was great combination to have from someone you're renting from. The place was awesome, the beds are extremely comfortable and it's very spacious if you're concerned how big it is from the pictures. Neighbourhood's great too and the commute to Manhattan isn't that bad at all. We'd stay again!

  • Julian was a great host. My family and I enjoyed staying in his awesome 4 bedroom apartment. I highly recommend any group looking for a place in Brooklyn to book this place. The apt is amazing and you are close to lots of bars and restaurants. Thanks Julian!

  • From the very start, Julian was a very gracious, laid back, and communicative host. The location is exactly what we were looking for, as it was really accessible to all things happening in the neighborhood. The space itself was generous even for our large group and had most of the necessary amenities. The reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars though was that the apartment itself looked like it had experienced a lot of minor wear and tear prior to our arrival (scuff marks on the walls and doors, sticky floors) and would have benefited from more thorough cleaning. We also could have just had bad luck due to maybe the quick turn around from a previous group, but regular and perhaps professional cleaning would go a long way for an apartment as popular and wonderfully located as this one. All that being said, it perfectly suited our needs for an amazing bachelorette weekend in Brooklyn.

  • We had a very great stay in Julian accommodation, though we stayed just for one night. The house is located in a great area, full of nice restaurants, bars and shops. The accommodation itself offers everything you need - comfortable beds, a big kitchen with all useful things, a clean bath and a fantastic private terrace. We wish, we could have stayed longer ! Julian himself was very friendly, gentle and warmhearted! Wish him all the best!

  • We had a great time staying in Julian's place. He was out of town until the last day of the stay but we had no issues at all, was all very organised. The apartment was clean and modern, more facilities than we expected and the shower is awesome.
This part of Williamsburg is great, so much to do and great bars / food in the immediate area. If you want to go to Manhattan then you can walk in 30 mins or take the train in 15. Thanks Julian!

I own/run a production company making films for clients from their home media and about their life experiences. Jolly, laid back, and open minded (closed to close mindedness). I enjoy thoughts and discussions in the hypothetical. In a nutshell I prefer "why not" to "why" On another note, I think cereal is humanity's high water mark, and I mean that in the most complimentary fashion.
