We stayed at Julian and Tania's flat during a weekend with friends - 10 of us fit very very comfortably! It was the perfect size and space, and when they say sunny they mean it.
The area was perfect and in close proximity to the bridge but also to all the coolest shops in Williamsburg. Everything in walking distance.
Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again in the future.
We were a group of 16 on a school trip (high school students and teachers) from Vienna, Austria staying for 6 nights in February 2015. Both of the two apartments were perfectly suited for us, the beds were all comfortable and the rooms clean. The necessary air mattresses were easy to find but some were broken, so we had some bed issues. The remaining equipment (hair dryers, plugs, kitchen equipment etc.) was all in good condition and there were lots of unique and interesting NYC travel guides in the apartments that really helped us. Tanja was frequently stopping by and always helpful if we needed something - once some problems with the gas oven occurred and Tanja was right there to assist us.
What's more, the building is located in a quite nice area, lots of trending restaurants and shops around, and directly next to it are a bagel store and a grocery - for the quick food. All in all, we really had a super experience with a perfect, cheap and comfortable accommodation!
Staying at Julian's apartment worked really well for our group of 8. The place was clean and the beds were comfortable! Also, the bagel store across the street and sandwiches in the convenient store were really good late night! Thumbs up.
Julian was a nice host. He let me come a week before to view the space. Julian informed me he was going to be out of town and gave me my new contact's info a week prior. The new contact was very responsive as well to my questions. The apartment was a good fit for our large group. One night we had 9 girls. There is a couch and an air mattress available. We were afraid sharing one bathroom was going to be an issue, but it wasn't at all. There were full mirrors and blow dryers in each of the 4 rooms. Loved the high ceilings, apartment layout, shower water pressure and comfy beds.
We were disappointed that guests were not allowed to access the outside space due to landlord regulations. The apartment was not cleaned thoroughly. I arrived after check-in time, and I had to do additional cleaning before my party arrived. The kitchen counter was very dirty, and there was a dirty pan left with food still inside of it. The walls are also very scuffed up.
Overall we had a great time staying in Williamsburg, but the upkeep of the apartment can improve.
Absoutly amazing space in a great place! I never actually got to meet Julian but he responded very quickly to any concerns or questions that we had over the duration of our stay. The only downside to the apartment was the shower it seemed impossible to keep water from getting all over the bathroom floor. I would recommend this property to anyone with a large group spending time in and around New York City
This was a great neighborhood to stay in for a trip to New York: super fun things to do locally, and walkable to 3 or 4 different subway lines. The apartment is no frills but it worked great for us. We had two families, ten people staying there in the four bedrooms--the kids were three to a bed but they didn't mind, and it was great to have the opportunity to be all together.

About the Host, Julian And Tania
Julian: Jolly, laid back, and open minded (closed to close mindedness). I enjoy thoughts and discussions in the hypothetical.
In a nutshell I prefer "why not" to "why"
On another note, I think cereal is humanity's high water mark, and I mean that in the most complimentary fashion.
Tania: Equal parts actress, intellectual, hippie, and clown. I enjoy spirited discussion, comedy, and carefree dancing.
Also, I am slightly addicted to chocolate.
