This historic home houses the only museum to Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald in the world. The Fitzgeralds wintered in the house from '31- '32, writing portions of their respective novels, "Save Me The Waltz" and "Tender Is The Night," during their time here.

After the family moved, the home was subdivided into four apartments. The downstairs now houses the Ftizgerald Museum, and the upstairs is now two separate suites.

The space
The F. Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald Museum is the only dedicated museum to the Jazz Age Couple in the world! Zelda, a native of Montgomery, grew up in the city's oldest neighborhood, Cottage Hill, only a mile from the museum's location in historic Cloverdale. The home itself was constructed in 1910 as a single family structure and was later subdivided into four apartments after the Fitzgeralds stay from 1931 to 1932.

It is the last of four surviving homes throughout their travels across the world; the rest are private residences. Come stay in the home of literary legend F. Scott Fitzgerald and Montgomery native, painter, writer and dancer, Zelda Fitzgerald. The two bedroom apartment features modern amenities, like a full kitchen and bath. The master bedroom includes a Queen sized bed; the secondary bedroom includes two Twin sized beds. Fitzgerald bedding by SisCovers is featured in the bedrooms. There is a separate living room, dining room and sun porch- all with views of the sprawling magnolia tree on the front lawn. Guests have access to a complimentary tour of the museum, located in the downstairs portion of the historic Craftsman style home.

Guest access
The museum is not accessible to guests outside of operating hours.

You will have access to the Zelda Suite only after operating hours.

Please be considerate of other guests across the hall. This is not a shared space, but a completely separate apartment.

Please use the front entrance to access your suite. Each suite has a rear exit, but because the staircase is steep and has limited lighting at night, should be used as an emergency exit only.

Other things to note
The house is a historic home built in 1910 with the bathrooms added in 1930. They are smaller than contemporary bathrooms, tubs and showers.

Please be mindful of the operating hours of the museum during your stay as to not disturb other guests.

Historic Cloverdale is one of Montgomery's oldest and most unique neighborhoods. It is easily accessible to/from the interstate and only a mile from downtown. Within walking distance of the apartment are some of the city's premier local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, The Cloverdale Playhouse and an independent movie theater (The Capri). The neighborhood itself was designed with walkability in mind, so every few blocks, you'll find a small greenspace. Each home is unique in its design and craftsmanship and little has changed since it was founded in 1892. You'll find traces of the history marked by historic plaques peppered among the homes.
