Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Be adventurous and stay in rustic old Gidley Station. It was moved to "Trail Acres" in the 1920's and was converted to a house. It has a unique but spacious floor plan, and is on a property that we have been working hard to restore for the last few years. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING!

The space
This is a very unique floor plan as it was once an old railway station built in the late 1800's, turned general store, and later moved to it's current location on our estate in the 1920's which we purchased a few years ago and are restoring. There is a spacious kitchen with a mini fridge, microwave, oven/stove, and coffee pot. The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed. 2nd Bedoom is down four stairs with two twin beds. There is also another fold down futon that will sleep two, but it's rather uncomfortable as futons usually are. For kids, the futon is usually fine.

THE BATHROOM has a short ceiling so anyone over 6'3 will have to watch their head! THE SHOWER HAS AN ESPECIALLY LOW CEILING! You must walk through the bathroom to get to the upstairs bedroom, so keep this in mind if you are staying with others. Some doorways are low and unless you're vertically challenged, you'll have to duck!! PLEASE NOTE: This is a COUNTRY setting. We have had professionals spray for the box elder bugs and stink bugs that are crazy in this part of Michigan, but you might still see one or two! The water is from a well. It is rather rusty! Please don't be alarmed when you see the rust in the shower. It is clean but the well water leaves a residue. The hot water also may have a sulfur smell. If you're used to well water, you may know what we're talking about! Coffee pot, toaster, some dishes, a few snacks, shampoo, and towels are provided. Wall decor and some furniture is available for purchase. We are next door to help, should you need us!

BREAKFAST -PLEASE NOTE: Some of the reviews mention me bringing breakfast. I can't always bring breakfast over, but don't be afraid to request it and if I can do it, I will. :)

Guest access
Views of Dutch windmill right out your back window, barns, an old man made waterfall and more. We would be happy to give you a tour of the historic property if we are available!

Other things to note
Coffee, tea and light snacks are available. We are restoring the property. There may be people working on barns, etc. occasionally.
