The beautiful island of Mahibadhoo is around 80 km from Male International Airport. There are several possibilities to get from the international airport to our paradise island.

The most convenient way is to rent a private speedboat, which will take you to our island in about 1 hour. The price of the speedboat is about US$ 500.00 (depending on the fuel price), regardless of the number of persons travelling. On the way back to Male, you may take the public ferry or speedboat.

There are also passenger speedboats travelling between Male and Mahibadhoo. The ride is about 1 h 20 min and the price is US$ 19.45. The most economic way to get from Male to Mahibadhoo is by ferry (private dhoni US$ 6.48, Mtcc dhoni US$ 3.24). The ride takes 4 1/2 hours.

The schedules are as follows:

Male -> Mahibadhoo

Saturday 9:00 am Mtcc dhoni
Saturday 4:00 pm Speedboat
Saturday 11:30 pm private dhoni
Monday 9:00 am Mtcc dhoni
Monday 4:00 pm speedboat
Tuesday 4:00 pm speedboat

A FEW WORDS ABOUT YOUR HOST

"Slice of paradise at reasonable price. "

Mazin was born and raised in a big family in Mahibadhoo, Maldives. For many years he worked for one of the most luxurious resorts in the world - Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. While there he helped building and designing the reef around the famous underwater restaurant.

He soon realized that he knows what the guests need and quickly became friends with many of them. While working in the finest resort in Maldives he understood however that resorts are available only for the wealthy. At that time the government of Maldives announced that locals can now build guesthouses and offer them to tourists to stimulate the economy. Mazin didn't wait. He and his brothers built a small guesthouse on Mahibadhoo and decided to offer a slice of paradise at a reasonable cost. Inspired by Rangali he decided to make each guest's experience an unforgettable...

Mazin enjoys spending that time in the office - that is either the beach or in the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. He is married and has a son named Yamko.

  • This was a vacation to remember. My wife and I loved our adventure at Mahibadhoo, Maldives. Mazin and his family were awesome and took care of everything. We had so much fun with the activities. If you love nature and marine wildlife then I highly recommend The Amazing Noovilu, it's relaxation and excitement for a great price. My wife and I still can't believe the colors of the water and fish. We are very glad we found Mazin and his team, will stay with them next time we're in Maldives.

  • We had a very nice stay at the Amazing Noovilu. If you want a authentic vacation on the Maldives this is the guesthouse to go to! Situated on a small inhabited island you get a good idea of how the Maldivians live. Very nice crew and amazing excursions. Two thumbs up!

  • This is the way to discover the Maldives: To live in a real village instead of in the artificial perfection of the resorts, since they look exactly the same all over the world and all you see is the same kind of people, no matter where you are.

We spent a week in the Amazing Noovilu on Mahibadhoo and enjoyed every minute of it. Mazi and his team provided super service and since they are locals, they really know what to do and where to go to experience everything that is on offer in the Maldives. They are also charming and crazy, but thats how we like it. The family was also very friendly and kind and it was a real joy to get a glimpse of their way of life.

The island is not very big, but exotic enough to be interesting and fun since it´s a real village and people treat you very well and are sincerely curious. The beaches may not (yet) be the best in the Maldives but I know Mazi is working on it and anyhow-with the speed boat you get access to every part of the paradise that surrounds you. Mazi and the guys simply know the spots!

The room itself is beautiful, not least the outdoor living room and bathroom which was a very cool feature that we enjoyed a lot. The bedroom was immaculate, the AC worked perfectly and the bed was very nice. The best room we had on our one month trip to India and the Maldives!

All in all, we highly recommend Amazing Noovilu for a real Maldivian experience!

  • We had the pleasure of discovering the island of Mahibadhoo spending some pleasant days with Mazin and his team, in his guesthouse “The Amazing Noovilu”. The house is clean, tidy and colorful; not least the sand-garden outdoor and bathroom with a view of the sky.
Mahibadhoo is a small village, so it was pleasant both walk around admiring people's everyday life and admire the nature sitting on one of the many traditional swings called "undholi". Although the beach may not (yet) be considered great - Mazin is working hard on it - its sea is lovely. Among the various activities organized by Mazin we had the pleasure to make snorkelling by day and by night, and to visit other lovely islets. The Maldives are a paradise, definitely, but our holiday was unforgettable since Mazin cuddled us all the time: we tasted the Maldivian specialties prepared strictly in the house (delicious Roshi!), we played with smiling children in his home, we spent evenings in local bars with Mazin and his friends, we attended concerts of traditional music, we spoke together about many topics.
But above all, we had fun, we revelled in all the time… It was like being among old friends.
It was an amazing experience to be repeated every year.
We highly recommend the Amazing Noovilu for a real Maldivian experience!

  • I had an amazing stay at Mazin's Noovilu!!!

What a great way to discover the Maldives far from the resorts. Mazin is a great host, always caring about his guests, and making sure that they are not missing anything.
More than a host, Mazin became a friend. I am so grateful that I met his family and lived all those experiences (Mantas, whale sharks, desert island...).

    Thank you very much Mazin!!!
