Interaction with Guests
I want you to feel welcome and comfortable while you are here. If for you that means keeping to yourself and just crashing here at night, that's totally fine! If you prefer to have a friendly chat when we cross paths, that's also great!
Friendly & diverse residential neighborhood. Lots of families and kids. There's a little corner store a 10 minute walk away that has all the groceries/snacks you'll need in addition to an amazing Mexican bakery. Next door to the store is a taqueria with delicious Mexican food. There's a Starbucks and several other places to eat (including pizza, falafel, sushi, sandwiches, fast food, and another taqueria) a three-minute drive down the road.
Easy access to highways 101 and 84, free driveway parking. The SamTrans 281 bus stops about a block from the house. Stanford runs a free shuttle (the Marguerite) and there is a stop on the Bohannon Line about a 10-15 minute walk from the house. Most people find that a rental car or Uber are the best ways to get around.
Other Things to Note
NON-SMOKERS ONLY PLEASE! :)
I have a cat named Annabelle who enjoys being admired by AirBnB guests. She can still be shy though, so you may not see much of her (unless you travel with cans of tuna! ;-) Her life goal is to escape out the front door so you'll have to watch your feet when you come/go. Incidentally: she is not allowed in the guest bedroom and I vacuum frequently with a HEPA filter vacuum.
If you enjoy gardens or flowers, I'd be happy to give you a tour of my 3500 sq. ft. drought-tolerant flower and vegetable gardens :) If you like roses, you can enjoy the 51 rose bushes on the property. If you come in the summer you can enjoy some fresh garden produce!
Check out my guidebook (click on the orange guidebook icon in the top right hand corner of your screen) to see my local restaurant, shopping and sightseeing recommendations! :)

The room at Sarah's place is spotlessly clean. The bed is comfy - I had no problems getting a good nights sleep here. The location is perfect for anyone going for a silicon valley interview or visiting Stanford University. Facebook etc. are just around the corner. A short drive away is Palo Alto Centre itself with all it's chic shops. Overall a great stay and very friendly host. Thanks!
Very good stay! Sarah was a wonderful guest. Very easy to communicate with. I arrived later than originally planned and Sarah easily accommodated my delays. After a long day of travel, the homely room and the comfy bed were exactly what i needed !
Sarah is really a super-host. Her instructions about everything were great. She also had chocolates for me when i arrived in the room!

Sarah was an absolutely great host. She made me feel very welcome and was extremely helpful. Her home was clean and tidy and she provided me with everything I needed. I would definitely stay at Sarah's home again.
This is a great location in Silicon Valley, easy to find and easy to move around. Parking available. Comfortable, clean, and good hosting. Would return any time.
Sarah is a first-rate hostess: kind, generous, considerate, and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to make me feel at home, and even lent me her bike so I could cycle to my conference venue. Menlo Park is a beautiful and interesting place to stay.
About the Host, Sarah
I was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA but have called many places home over the years, including Washington state, London, Indianapolis, Chicago, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Washington D.C. I'm so happy to be home again in the Bay Area. I think this is one of the greatest places in the world!
I love gardening and plants, and enjoy spending time in my yard working on garden science projects. I recently removed 3500 square feet of lawn and planted drought tolerant flowers and a huge organic vegetable garden. I also love walking/riding my bike by the Baylands, baking delicious things, and all kinds of puzzles.
I decided to list a space in my home on AirBnB because I have met so many wonderful people during my travels. The Bay Area is a marvelous part of the world and I love hosting people who come to visit it!
