Interaction with guests

I want you to feel welcome and comfortable while you are here! If for you that means keeping to yourself and just crashing here at night, that's totally fine! If you prefer to have a friendly chat when we cross paths, that's also great!

Other things to note

I have a cat named Annabelle who enjoys being admired by AirBnB guests. Her life goal is to escape out the front door so you'll have to watch your feet when you come/go. Incidentally: she is not allowed in the guest bedroom and I vacuum frequently with a HEPA filter vacuum.

If you enjoy gardens or flowers, I'd be happy to give you a tour of my 3500 sq. ft. drought-tolerant flower and organic vegetable garden :) If you like roses, you can enjoy the 56 rose bushes on the property (there will be flower bouquets in your room, too!) If you come in the summer you can enjoy some fresh garden produce!

I was in town for a workshop at Stanford, and while this was a little bit of a commute, it was worth driving back and forth! The bed was super comfy, the bathroom clean, the towels were sooooo soft and fluffy, there is a back yard with roses and plenty of room to kick your feet up and soak in some rays! Sarah is very hospitable and will visit as much or as little as you want! I would definitely stay here again if I was traveling alone. :0) There is some excellent Jamaican food just down the street too!

I love this place! Sarah is a very welcoming and kind hostess. The garden outside is absolutely breathtaking, the room is very tidy, beautifully decorated and includes a very comfortable mattress! I was traveling on business, working long hours and it was such a treat to return to Sarah's peaceful home each night. It is clear Sarah has put forth great effort in ensuring guests are comfortable - it was nice to have access to a few toiletries I'd forgotten to pack, and the vase of freshly cut flowers on the desk was so wonderful! I look forward to staying here again on my next trip!

I have stayed here a number of times, and there are a lot of things that are awesome about it. Sarah is really nice. Her house is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and in a nice quiet location. She has really pretty gardens. Even small things, like nice towels and sheets. I've stayed in a lot of places in Menlo Park, you won't find a better place.

Sarah is amazing. Annabelle is amazing too, but the most amazing thing is Sarah's inner beauty. She understands her customers and put them first- she empathized with them. #startuplesson101! :)

Sarah User ProfileSarah is a superhost.

I was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA but have called many places home over the years, including Washington state, London, Indianapolis, Chicago, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Washington D.C. I'm so happy to be home again in the Bay Area. I think this is one of the greatest places in the world!

I love gardening and plants, and enjoy spending time in my yard working on garden science projects. I recently removed 3500 square feet of lawn and planted drought tolerant flowers and a huge organic vegetable garden. I also love walking/riding my bike by the Baylands, baking delicious things, and reading.

I decided to list a space in my home on AirBnB because I have met so many wonderful people during my travels. The Bay Area is a marvelous part of the world and I love hosting people who come to visit it!
