This is a simple, comfortable and clean private room in a two-bedroom house. Close to Stanford and major tech company HQs. Super fast WIFI, quiet place to work/sleep, lovely private outdoor gardens. Enjoy hospitality from an AirBnB SuperHost! :)
This location is an ideal base of operations for work or travel. Close to everything!
5 minutes to Palo Alto (10-15 minutes to Stanford)
10 minutes to Mountain View and Redwood City
20-25 minutes to both the San Francisco and San Jose airports.
Free driveway parking
The room has:

Interaction with Guests
I want you to feel welcome and comfortable while you are here. If for you that means keeping to yourself and just crashing here at night, that's totally fine! If you prefer to have a friendly chat when we cross paths, that's also great!
Friendly & diverse residential neighborhood. Lots of families and kids. There's a little corner store a 10 minute walk away that has all the groceries/snacks you'll need in addition to an amazing Mexican bakery. Next door to the store is a taqueria with delicious Mexican food. There's a Starbucks and several other places to eat (including pizza, falafel, sushi, and a taqueria) a three-minute drive down the road.
Easy access to highways 101 and 84, free driveway parking. The SamTrans 281 bus stops about a block from the house. Stanford runs a free shuttle (the Marguerite) and there is a stop on the Bohannon Line about a 10-15 minute walk from the house. Most people find that a rental car or Uber are the best ways to get around.
Other Things to Note
NON-SMOKERS ONLY PLEASE! :)
I have a cat named Annabelle, who has really come out of her shell and enjoys being admired by AirBnB guests. She can still be shy though, so you may not see her (unless you travel with cans of tuna! ;-) Her life goal is to escape out the front door so you'll have to watch your feet when you come/go. Incidentally: she is not allowed in the guest bedroom and I vacuum frequently with a HEPA filter vacuum.
If you enjoy gardens or flowers, I'd be happy to give you a tour of my 3500 sq. ft. drought-tolerant flower and vegetable gardens :) If you like roses, you can enjoy the 51 rose bushes on the property. If you come in the summer you can enjoy some fresh garden produce!
Check out my guidebook (click on the orange guidebook icon in the top right hand corner of your screen) to see my local restaurant, shopping and sightseeing recommendations! :)
- Non-smokers only please

- No shoes in the house please
- Annabelle (the cat) is not allowed outside or in the AirBnB room
Sarah is a first-rate hostess: kind, generous, considerate, and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to make me feel at home, and even lent me her bike so I could cycle to my conference venue. Menlo Park is a beautiful and interesting place to stay.
Sarah is the perfect hostess: welcoming, willing and wanting to share her beautiful house and gardens with her guests. She is kind, thoughtful, and a mine of local information. Sarah even lent me her bike so that I could cycle the two miles to the Vallombrosa Conference Centre.
Simple, comfortable, clean, and very welcoming. My first airbnb experience, and I'm convinced - no more random Palo Alto / Mountain View hotels for me. Great location if your a business traveller (especially if office in Menlo Park).
Also there's a cat! If you like cats!
And if you don't - the delightful cat is kept far from the guest room - I had Zero cat fur on my suit jacket (and for pet owners you know how hard that can be!)
Sarah is an amazing person! She made us feel at home. Her place is very cozy, comfortable and clean. And her cat is super cool too! Highly recommended.
Sarah's house is on a quiet street in a residential area. It's a very safe neighborhood with a 10 minute walk to the local Starbucks!
Very convenient off street parking. Sarah was always accessible by text for any questions we had.
We stayed with this when we were in town to visit our baby grandson. She made the environment so quiet, clean and cheerful that we felt totally rested every morning to go visit with our son's new family!
The room is just as pictured, the bed was so comfortable even with my back problem,( flares up on unfamiliar beds). The bathroom is right next to the guest room and squeaky clean with great water pressure in the shower.
Will stay here again when we return next year!
Fantastic room and host. A great introduction to air bnb, will recommend!
I really enjoyed staying at Sarah's house! She is a great host and makes you feel really comfortable and at home. She even recommended a few places to go around town. The room was also clean and comfortable too. I will be coming back again soon.
I was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA but have called many places home over the years, including Washington state, London, Indianapolis, Chicago, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Washington D.C. I'm so happy to be home again in the Bay Area. I think this is one of the greatest places in the world!
I love gardening and plants, and enjoy spending time in my yard working on garden science projects. I recently removed 3500 square feet of lawn and planted drought tolerant flowers and a huge organic vegetable garden. I also love walking/riding my bike by the Baylands, baking delicious things, and all kinds of puzzles.
I decided to list a space in my home on AirBnB because I have met so many wonderful people during my travels. The Bay Area is a marvelous part of the world and I love hosting people who come to visit it!
