Simple, comfortable and clean

20 minutes to both the San Francisco and San Jose airports.

The room has:
- fast WIFI
- a queen-sized bed
- fresh towels
- a desk with basic office supplies
- a big closet with pants/dress hangers and plenty of space for your suitcases
- hair styling appliances (hair dryer, flat iron, curling iron)

Guest Access

Guests have access to fast WIFI, a shared bathroom, free driveway parking, and the beautiful private backyard and patio. Guest kitchen use is limited to beverage service (coffee/coffee maker, tea, and cocoa are provided).

Interaction with Guests

I have a non-traditional job so I am in and out during the day, but I'm generally home in the evenings. My home is pretty quiet and mellow :)

I want you to feel welcome and comfortable. If for you that means keeping to yourself and just crashing here at night, that's totally fine! If you prefer to have a friendly chat when we cross paths, that's also great!

The Neighborhood

Friendly, diverse, residential neighborhood. Lots of families and kids. There's a little corner store a 5-10 minute walk away that has all the groceries/snacks you'll need in addition to an amazing bakery. Next door to the store is a taqueria with tasty burritos. There are several places to eat and a Starbucks a 5-minute drive away.

Getting around

Easy access to highways 101 and 84, free driveway parking. The SamTrans 281 bus stops about a block from the house.

Other Things to Note

Flexible check-in time pending availability. Last-minute bookings can usually be accommodated, so don't hesitate to contact me.

There is a cat in the house. She is shy so you may not see much of her. Unless you bring cans of tuna, in which case she will be your new BFF. (Incidentally: she is not allowed in the guest bedroom and I vacuum frequently with a HEPA filter vacuum).

  • Another fantastic experience! Sarah has always been a great host for myself and my girlfriend when travels with me. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Sarah's home is my favorite AirBnb destination.

I was delighted to see the progress she had made on her front and back yard since the last time I visited. Beautiful! And the carpet in the room was just as amazing as it was last time.

Sarah will always be my top pick in the bay area!

  • Sarah's house is very nice, clean and easily accessible. The room is fantastic and the bathroom is great. The neighborhood is very quiet and you can park the car on the driveway.

Sarah is a very nice host and I wish I had more time to talk to her. In general, I highly recommend Sarah's place!

  • The cleanest and most comfortable accommodations I've experienced with Airbnb. I've already booked 4 more stays. Thanks for welcoming me Sarah. I look forward to staying again!

  • All of the reviews tell it like it is: Sarah is a great host and the room is superb. She's made available all of the amenities you would expect from a really good 3+ star hotel. Bedside reading lamps, a small desk, a (free) small collection of snacks and bottle of water, iron/board, a closet with plenty of hanging space - and the bed is really comfy. Clean bathroom - by 3 star hotel standards. Super personable host. This place is a good example of how airbnb is giving the hotel chains a run for their money. Thanks Sarah!

  • Sarah's place is exactly what it says on the tin, charming, quiet, clean and comfortable. She is a lovely host and accommodated me on very short notice, making me feeling at home straight away. The house itself is very conveniently located so all in all a great experience that I would highly recommend!

  • Sarah is the real deal. From the moment I walked in, she was extremely welcoming. The room was sparkling clean and filled with many thoughtful things guest may need. I really enjoyed chatting with her and am certain we'd be besties if we lived closer! Top notch airbnb experience!

  • Sarah was a great hostess. She made us feel comfortable and made it clear that she respected our independence. At the same time, if we had questions about getting around town, or other requests, she was helpful.
The room couldn't have been more comfortable: wonderful bed, large closet, electric heater for cold mornings, and plush wall to wall rug.
It was never a problem for us to share the bathroom.
The quiet neighborhood was pleasant and easily accessible to the highway and downtown Palo Alto. (We had a rental car).

I was born and raised in Palo Alto, CA but have called many places home over the years, including Washington state, London, Indianapolis, Chicago, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Washington D.C. I'm happy to be home again in the Bay Area! I think this is one of the greatest places in the world! I love gardening and plants, and enjoy spending time in my backyard working on garden science projects! I also enjoy cooking, Zumba, reading, and trashy reality TV. I decided to list a space in my home on AirBnB because I have met so many wonderful people during my travels. The Bay Area is a marvelous part of the world and I love hosting people who come to visit it!
