1. No smoking in the house. Smokers please go outside.
2. Use anything you want, & please return things to their original locations after use.
3. This is a sharing-based community. I'm supplying as much necessities as possible. If they run out please go buy them & share with other roommates.
4. Help to clean the house and your own dishes/cookers/cups, or even the toilets restrooms whenever you're done using them.
5. Help to do the garbage. Garbage and recycling materials go to different containers in the yard. Garbage and recycling trucks come every Monday morning around 6 or 7am. So those containers in the yard need to be dragged to the street before that. Please follow the garbage cleaning instructions in the house and proactively help other members in the house to keep the house clean.
6. Turn off the lights when they are not being used.
Great experience -- exactly what I needed at a good price. Nice quiet neighborhood. Nice 3 mile walk to downtown if you have the time. I had my choice of beds since occupancy was low. Shower was great with lots of supplies donated by previous guests. Really low key and just great option for those looking for something like this.
Very clean and tidy. Only spent one night but Bruce was very responsive when I initially put my request in. No complaints and would def recommend.
Everything was great! I barely saw or spoke to anyone. Very quiet. Very clean. Plenty of room to work at tables. Great location downtown. I work nearby and just need a place to crash for a night so perfect.
If you are a visitor and wanting someone to get local insight then maybe other choice would be better.
Bruce was a very friendly and accommodating host. I booked very last minute and got in late and it wasn't an issue. He responded almost immediately to all messages.
The location is great, very easy to get to the light rail and in to downtown San Jose or the airport. Street Parking was super easy.
However, I was a bit disappointed with the experience. When I arrived there were no clean sheets available. So, I slept in the sleeping bag with no sheets on the bed or pillow. I was sharing the room with 4 other people that seemed to all have different schedules. I got up by far the earliest and felt a bit guilty having to rummage through my stuff to get ready in the morning while being quiet with everyone else sleeping.
I was working late(~10pm) and out early(~6-7am) every morning, so I didn't really interact much with the other guests. Other than Bruce, they mostly seemed focused on whatever they were working on their laptops, so I more or less left them alone.
The bathroom was tiny, and seemed like it needed some cleaning. The water was hot, so at least that was good.
I've done shared sleeping place arrangements often for going to Lake Tahoe, and generally had a better experience. Maybe it's because everyone is there for Skiing so they all have similar schedules, but I just felt like this experience fell a bit short of expectation.
Bruce answered all my queries almost immediately which was very helpful.
