We stayed here while in the area for a friend's wedding- the place was very cozy, warm, and comfortable. Meg was a gracious host, and had great suggestions for things to do in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Meg was easily our coolest host on our road trip. Intelligent, funny, helpful and doesn't take life too seriously. Really, I wish she was living closer to us so we could've been friends :)
My girlfriend and I have traveled for two weeks in New England with airbnb and this was our best experience. We actually got a better room downstairs as the Decker room was unexpectedly occupied, and what a room it was. The attached guest dining room is also very nice and pretty. And of course the dogs (and goats) are super cute, as everybody mentions. Too bad we had only one night to stay in this lovely place.
Meg and Mark were warm and welcoming hosts. They had always time to give some good advices for places to go.
From Hollis Center you can easily reach for example Portland or Freeport.
Instead of staying in the room on the 2nd floor we stayed on 1st floor in a room which is connected to the breakfast area. The room was quit good, although at night it got a little cold.
Gorgeous location and scenery, clean room and friendly hosts. Great for dog lovers, too. Several cute, gentle goats are totally worth visiting.
Meg and her Husband were great hosts. It's a fun house and the animals are a delight. Would gladly stay here again.
I enjoyed my few days in Maine, this airbnb home was not to close to the sea (about 40 kilometers) and Hollis Center as not much to offer except for friendly people. But if you mind driving a little, the area has a lot to offer: Kennybunkport, Cape Purpoise, Fortune Rocks, Ogunquit, York Beach, Portland... The bedroom was nice, Meg and other member of her family were friendly and discreet, good place to relax, wich I did.
But you know when you're expecting something because I've read so much fantastic comments about how delicious homemade breakfast were at this place... So I was a bit disapointed not to get the same!!!
Meg works hard, has to go to work very early each morning so I really understand this situation. Instant oatmeal was my breakfast for the first 2 days, for a change, I end up eating other food from the local store for the 2 last mornings.
But again, Meg and her husband Mark were both very nice people. Knowing what to expect, I would recommand this place for a nice "pied à terre" for a trip in this beautiful region.
Thanks for allowing me to share your home for these few days.
Have a nice fall,
Meg was wonderful! She was very welcoming and open. She had breakfast and coffee in the mornings and the dogs were all super cute and loved on us. I would highly recommend Meg and The farmhouse if you are considering a trip to Maine!
My partner and I had a really great stay at Meg's Farmhouse! As soon as we got there, Mark gave us an enthusiastic tour of their beautiful farm: sweet goats, lively geese, and many more. Both Meg and Mark were super welcoming and refreshingly real. They have set up a well-stocked breakfast area for guests and they've decked out a super clean and comfy room as well. We had great chats with Meg and felt so at home. The Hollis area is gorgeous, and my partner and I went for a great trail run the morning that were there. I would be stoked to stay here again, and I totally recommend it as a rejuvenating haven for anyone!
My boyfriend and I had an absolutely lovely time Meg's house. Meg and her family were so welcoming, and gave us some great suggestions of what we should do while in Maine. We really appreciated their hospitality and loved our stay!
