Historic Venice Location - 2.0

House - Private room · Altair Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90291, United States

Ideal Venice Location is located on Historic Original Canal Street in a fantastic neighborhood. Your guest room, with private bathroom, balcony, and entrance, is located in between Abbot Kinney Street and heart of the Venice Bch Boardwalk.

The Space

Greetings;

SnapShot: House is located on Historic, Original Canal network (now paved). Private Room, Private en suite Bathroom, Private Balcony, Private Entrance, all on a Private Floor. All Natural Household, water filters for drinking and showering, free use of bikes...Truly Ideal Location.

This is the opportunity to stay in one of the most hip and peaceful area's of Venice. Located on an Original Canal Street, guests get keys to a dedicated entrance that leads to the 2rd floor, where your private bedroom, private bathroom, and private balcony are located. You have open and shared access to the lounge room and kitchen where you can relax, make teas and other goodies.

This 3 story house is 50 meters from the progressive Abbot Kinney Bl, and it is 600 meters, straight down Winward to the heart of the Venice Board Walk. The house is a minute bike ride to the beach, but far enough away for peace of mind. You are in walking distance to Main Street, lower Santa Monica, Venice Canals, buses, taxi's, shops, restaurants. For your morning coffee or tea, Intelligentsia is a stones throw away. This flat is on the West side of Abbot Kinney, just off Winward. Goldilocks would find this local, just right.

The beauty about this space is that it is so close to all that Venice, Santa Monica, and Marina Del Rey has to offer... yet it is tranquil, hip, and beautiful. I just moved from an apt on the boardwalk after 8 years, and I can write from experience that 'this is the way to do Venice'.

It is an all natural house hold. All cotton linens, towels, no chemical cleaners or fragrances. Water filters are provided for drinking and showers. You get wireless internet, a queen bed, and small desk / work station in your room; as well as access (email hidden) hub (computer / printer / fax / scanner). You also have a small outdoor patio just outside your room.

I (Matt), make three raw food products for a local natural foods store just down the road. I try to give tastings to all my guests. My site is TheFeelGoodLounge.

p.s.- there are 2 bikes available to guests. Parking: it is street parking, plus sharing of a private spot, if neededt. Parking is plentiful, just out front or in back of the flat. The only caveats are street sweeping for 2 hours on Mon / Tues, and it gets tight on Sat and Sun from 12 to 6. With a little local knowledge, parking is easy. Every evening is wide open, as well as all weekdays.

Guest Access

Kitchen, Bikes, Lounge room, and a DIY breakfast, including fresh fruit, oatmeal, teas, and coffee.

Interaction with Guests

I will interact with guests if I am in the kitchen and they are passing through. I am on a different floor than the guest rooms, so interaction takes place on the main floor. Guest rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

The Neighborhood

Beautiful, artistic homes and tree lined streets make the immediate area a pleasant walk. And a 5 minute walk will put you in the canals, which are breathtaking. Abbot Kinney is almost a stones throw away, so you've got some of LA's best cafe's, restaurants, and boutiques just around the corner.

Getting around

Major bus hubs and stops are within a 2 minute walk and taxi's are also just minutes away. Bikes are complimentary and a great way to take in the boardwalk and Santa Monica Pier.

Other Things to Note

Kitchen notes and features: On demand hot, cold, and room temp filtered water. Kitchen is petite and best for simple preparation, i.e. steaming veggies or boiling water. There is a toaster, no microwave.

  • Very special thanks to a great host! I stayed here for one week, during a spring break. It is super close to beaches, beautiful people, restaurants, shops, you name it. And by close I mean, steps. Matthew was a stellar host. The room is perfect for anyone who wants to feel the freedom of having their own entrance but also have a communal entrance through the lounge areas. Matt is a very kind person. If staying in a place with a good vibe and energy are important to you, then THIS IS THE PLACE.

  • Matthew was a great host. Very responsive, flexible and kind. Everything was as described here. The room was really nice, comfy and very clean. The location is perfect: 10 minute walk to Venice Beach and right around the corner of Abbot Kinney. And if you take one of the bikes you can easily drive to Santa Monica.
    Thanks for having me, Mat!

  • Me and my boyfriend had a lovely time staying here. The location was perfect for Venice, an easy walk to the beach and local restaurants on Abbot Kinney. We rented a car for some LA destinations and we were almost always able to find parking. Matthew gave us lots of tips and directions on fun things to do and how to get there.

The room was quiet and sunny with a private deck and bathroom, perfect for a romantic weekend away.

  • this is a lovely little place conveniently located right off of abbot kinney in venice. i definitely enjoyed my stay here, and matthew was absolutely love. i'm a bit of a quiet person when i stay anywhere, and i felt comfortable right off the start. matthew gave me a quick tour then left me to my own devices. the all-natural products were an excellent touch. i would definitely recommend this room to anyone looking for a low key place to spend their days in venice.
