It is a simple and cozy apartment that can pamper up to five passengers.
Welcome to “La Revoltosa” – as we like to call it – a place surrounded by the cosmopolitan, multicultural, underground and genuine soul of this amazing city. The personality of the neighbours is in their streets, not flooded with traffic noise – which is regulated here – but with their inhabitants’ voices, clothes, guitars, small drums and delicious stews. Narrow streets whose open doors, windows and balconies show you, sometimes in whispers and sometimes unashamedly out loud their way of living, their mood and their culture
. Here you will find a neighbourhood where their streets and houses can talk and listen.
“La Revoltosa” is a simple and cosy apartment which can pamper up to five travelers.

We provide what we like to find, learn and discover when we travel ... as desired can suggest "the Madrid of Madrid" places flavored but less touristy.'ll Show you where to find the richest tapas restaurants where to taste authentic Spanish food, shopping or to enjoy a good show of flamenco, alternative theater ...
It is located in the heart of the old “Rastro” of Madrid – an outdoors market that takes place every Sunday since the XV century. It is placed between “Ribera de Curtidores” and “Embajadores” streets, 450 meters away from “La Latina” underground station. Other well-known underground stations nearby: “Tirso de Molina”, “Lavapies”, “Embajadores” and “Puerta de Toledo”. The nearest train station is “Sol” – “Atocha” is a bit more distant but close as well.
Our place is in one of the most ancient “corralas” of the city – a traditional and characteristic dwelling of Madrid in the XVI century. All the stages are faced to an interior courtyard where most of the community life takes place. A project to preserve this kind of buildings has been initiated several years ago to improve them without losing their identity. Our “corrala” is in final phase of transformation – finishing touches – so you will enjoy its recent refurbishing.
“La Revoltosa” is on the first floor of the building and on your way to its door your sense of smell will guide you through several continents: from the Madrilenian stew to the Moroccan couscous, including Indian curry or samosa.
Please note that in the hall you will find a map of Madrid where basics and must-do are marked, like supermarkets or leisure spots. Of course, do not hesitate to ask us for any question you may have.
The “Lavapies” quarter is living a cultural, leisure and night life boom. In the “Lavapies” square you can find the “Valleinclán” theatre and the “Comercial” cafeteria, one of the oldest in Madrid. The Argumosa Street begins there and is full of bars with different design styles and delicious “tapas”. All of the nearby streets are crowded with restaurants from the five continents, tapas bars, tea shops, night bookstores and pubs.
Do not forget to visit “El Rastro” on Sunday morning up to 3.00 pm. There is everything you can and cannot imagine that someone is able to sell: soccer trading cards, plants, collectibles, vintage clothes and lots of surprises. You will be living in the same street where “Galerías Piquer” is located, a community of antiques shops distributed by kind of goods.

Lovely flat in an interesting, bustling (but slightly noisy!) neighbourhood. We were made to feel really welcome and the flat is gorgeous and perfectly suited our needs. Highly recommended! Thank you :)
Loved spending time in this apartment. Wonderfully located, beautiful flat with everything you would need. This was our first time in Madrid, and the hosts had a great book with all the tips of where to go and what to do! Would recommend this flat to anyone!
La Revoltosa is centrally located in La Latina, a great location to walk around most of Madrid. The host provided good directions, and provides handy lists of places to eat and visit. The Sunday flea market is also at your doorstep.
The apartment is basic and clean but cosy. It is however located above a bar so you get the street noise, so ear plugs are required if sleeping in the front room. The walls are thin so you can hear the neighbours also in the back room.
We had a few issues with check in - host was half a hour late and didn't respond to call or texts. Wifi we couldn't get working which took awhile to resolve, but was in the end.
The shower only has enough water for 2 people at a time, so if a bigger group you need to split showers.
The apartment was very nice and clean, pictures are realistic. The beds were very comfortable and you have everything you need in the flat. The huge map on the wall is very useful and there are two booklets full of recommendations for Madrid (unfortunately we only discovered them on the last day). Location is very good, all in all it was a very good stay. One small comment - there is a bar on the ground floor of the apartment building and it seems the guys love to party, so maybe its an idea to bring ear plugs. I slept in the big bedroom and didn't hear anything, however my friend slept in the small one and had some issues falling asleep.
Enjoy Madrid :)
alles super! gastgeber, wohnung, umgebung.
todo super bien! el piso, el barrio, los anfitriones.
We had a great stay. The apartment was perfect, clean and plenty of room for two of us. Three could also have stayed comfortably.
The beds were also very comfortable. Kitchen, living room and bathroom/shower spotless.
Location ideal with a 10minute walk to the main square. Lovely cafe for breakfast just around the corner! Amaia and Agustin answered any queries we had, met us on arrival and we could leave our bags in the apartment on the last day. They also provided a book of places to eat and visit.
The double room in the back of the apartment was very quiet. The heating kept the rooms warm as it was February. I would say that if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs if sleeping in the front room as it's right on the street. I found it no problem though.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here and will definitely go again.
