This is a newly renovated one bedroom cottage with large deck on the river. Kayak to sand dunes and watch the fishing boats go by. Walk to an art gallery . Close to Cavendish, and midway between Summerside and Charlottetown. Cottage has lovely furnishings, a new Ikea kitchen and modern bath. Fully equipped with awesome views .
There is wifi and a television with dvd player. And lots of board games to play if you wish.
Our cottage is truly peaceful with the river views, the sun rising in the cottage in the am and the amazing sunsets. You can stroll to the wharf up the road to watch the action with the fisherman or go across from the wharf to the art gallery of Toni Diodati , a noted island artist.
There are golf courses, restaurants and amazing views in this area of the island. Anne's lake of shining waters (email hidden) away as are many of the island attractions. The location between Summerside and Charlottetown makes it a perfect place to plan some day trips. But it is difficult to leave this peaceful spot!
Wonderful place and wonderful host! Nancy and her husband were really nice and helpful.
Nancy's cottage is very cosy, absolutely quiet, yet greatly located. It is very close from the north shore of the island and the National Park. Convenience stores are also available in a short driving range.
We loved staying in this little cottage, with its great view, uncluttered decor and friendly hosts. We particularly appreciated the privacy of the site (given what else we saw on the Island), the firm bed and the comfortable chairs on the deck.
Modern Cottage on French River, beautiful location, well kept and very peaceful.
Ideal location to put your feet up. All you need, right there.
Minutes to great beaches and historic sites, and local entertainment.
Take the tips that Nancy and Owen have to share, and enjoy this great location
We couldn't have been happier with our stay in the "modern cottage". The cottage was clean and well equipped and was the perfect restful space to return to after a busy day!! Thanks.
This cozy, little cottage was packed with everything we needed - plus a gorgeous view! We were very comfortable there. Nancy was a marvelous resource providing us with information on out-of-the-way places and things to do. We could not have had a better time exploring the picturesque and charming PEI.
Thank you for all your help, Nancy!
The modern cottage is wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. The sunrise in the morning fills the place with sunshine on the sunny days. While I wish I had more sunny days, the cottage was itself, terrific. Everything you needed was available in the open kitchen and the cottage is freshly decorated.
Nancy was a great host. A few pages of things to know and where to find recommended places was welcome indeed.
If you can get to the "dunes" art gallery, restaurant, and gardens, it is really lovely in any weather.
The 2 nearby beaches recommended by Nancy and Owen were delightful.
If I return to Pei, I would not hesitate to stay at the cottage again. I recommend it to anyone.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Nancy and Owen's cottage. The space was clean, modern and had a perfect view of the river. The location was great for navigating Central PEI. Nancy made sure our stay was a smooth one, even providing a list of recommendations (everything from bakeries to beaches!). This is the type of place that feels too good to be true!
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay in this charming cottage on the river. It is bright, modern, clean, well-equipped, and not one mosquito during the 5 days we stayed there! We loved sitting on the terrace at the end of the boardwalk each morning at sunrise, drinking our coffee and watching the fishermen pass by in their boats, on their way to check their lobster traps. We saw racoons and herons fishing for their breakfast. What a view! And that gentle, warm island breeze makes this place heaven on earth!
Nancy and Owen are awesome hosts. In fact, we arrived as guests and left as friends. We were treated like family and never once felt as if we were bothering them. Owen treated Doug to his first raw oyster experience and took him out in his boat to the dunes just down the river. Nancy and I chatted a bit in French because she wants to learn the language. We can't wait to go back and will definitely be staying at their cottage next time, but for a longer period of time. 5 days goes by too fast. There is so much to see and do. We adore the beauty of PEI and the kindness of the people who live there.
Nancy and Owen, we miss you already. Thank-you for everything and for making our stay so wonderful.
A la prochaine!
Anna-Marie & Doug
