Patricia is the kind of host that is the essence of a true air bnb experience! Charming , very helpful and a beautiful property, Close to downtown, I walked alone during the day no problem and a 50 peso taxi ride will bring you back. The property itself is like an oasis once you step inside the gates and very lush garden completes the scene. I also loved Fidel the cat who was so friendly to me! Patricia gave me a very good insight to the area and accompanied me to the Saturday morning organic market! She has travelled a lot in Mexico and South America and an amazing jewellery maker. I really enjoyed my stay and def plan a visit to San Miguel and Patricia's place in the near future.

In a beautiful setting, every bit of the home is an artful surprise and all of it a lovely reflection of its charming host. The Airbnb photos don't begin to do it justice. Well situated too. Near buses or call a taxi from the b&b. Only a few blocks to the San Antonio Colonia with its Saturday Market, Instituto Allende, theatre, art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and shops, and a longer sunny stretch of the legs along colorful streets to Centro and the Jardin. Highly recommend all of it.

San Miguel is a very nice City and is developing new subdivisions just on the outskirts of the old Town. Many nice restaurants are nearby and el Centro is walking distance. I'm planning to return as a temporary resident.

Patricia went out of her way to make our stay special. She was very knowledgeable about the culture, directions, restaurants, safety etc and made herself available when we needed anything. She went the extra mile and prepared breakfast for us as well! We were lucky to have such an awesome experience. Came strangers and left friends. Highly recommend staying here!

Interaction with guests

I can give a tour of San Miguel de Allende. Patricia has been a Mexican folk art collector for 40 years. I can provide information about collecting Folk Art in San Miguel and surrounding areas Mexico City, Oaxaca, Michoacan and Chiapas.

About Patricia

I am going into my 10th year in Mexico. I first came to Mexico in 1973 to San Miguel to study Spanish at the Instituto Allende. I have travel extensively all over Mexico to search for Mexican Folk Art, recently in Guatemala as well. Some have described my apartment as museum of Folk art and I have an extensive collection of Embroidered Traditional Blouses and Shawls. I have an extensive library of books on Mexican folk art. I also am a jewelry designer and I collect beads from all over the world.
I teach Psychology and Social Work online through a University in California and I am a psychiatric social worker.
Another passion is organic gardening. I took a year long class in Organic gardening and I have green house roof on my back patio and have plants on my roof as well. I have five crates of worms that are for compost and regularly make worm tea, liquid worm fertilizer. I go to the Saturday organic market weekly to get the veggies that I don’t have in my own garden.
I also enjoy swimming in the local Hotel Aldea pool and going to the hot springs at La Grueta.
