The manager of Quailway Cottage, Craig McEwan, has lived in the area since 2004 and has been a member of the local hiking group for all of those years. He grew up working on his family’s cattle farm in Missouri. He considers himself an avid outdoorsman and hobby naturalist. Craig and his wife, Juvy, built their own home near Horseshoe Canyon. Gardening, grafting fruit trees, reading and writing, and caring for a small flock of free-range chickens round out McEwan’s home-based pursuits. He is president of the local Chiricahua-Peloncillo Historical Society (eastern Cochice County, AZ and western Hidalgo County, NM) and treasurer of the Cochise County Historical Society. He enjoys discussing history and researching, giving presentations, and writing articles on what he has learned. Please feel free to ask him any questions you may have. If he doesn’t know the answer he probably knows someone in the region that can provide the information to your inquiry.
