The place was tidy and in a great location, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Lucy, the caretaker, is an absolute gem and was more than willing to answer questions or help us. Great experience for a night's stay.
I enjoyed a quick overnight stay in the center of Guadalahara. I had a great experience with driver who was recommended to pick me up and return me to airport to connect to Puerto Vallarta the next day. The room was clean and comfortable.
The only good thing about this place is Lucy, who is the hostess and I guess works for Alejandro, who is not in residence. She is delightful, and nothing is too much trouble for her. But guests only get one old lumpy pillow each, the bed has a thin, hard mattress, the furniture is old and tatty, not historically or artistically old, just uber-basic.This is ideal for young backpackers on a budget, but anyone else should give it a miss.
Front desk lady was super sweet and accomdating. We needed a taxi to the airport at 4 in the morning, and they arranged that for us. Were up at 4 to see us off too. Also, great location. Close to the historic downtown area. Internet was super slow, that appeared to be the only downside. But we were out and about and were able to use the internet to check our flights, which was all we really needed.
Great place to stay in Guadalajara, wonderful location for walking around the city. Lucy was extremely helpful. She had arranged having someone pick us up at the airport at 6am-very nice to get off the red eye and have some kind person there ready to pick you up. Accomodations were clean and spacious.
I give this lodging location 5 Estrellas! (5 stars) The accommodations are clean and more importantly safe! There was wifi at this location so it made my experience here that much better. I had a room without a TV so it made me get out and meet people. It is a very simple storefront but once you walk in you will be nicely surprised! There is a wall sized map in the lobby which helped with figuring out where I was and where I wanted to go.
--> 5 minute walk to the Juarez train station, use exact change of six pesos.
-->7 minute walk to the intersection of Juarez and Septiembre where you can catch a bus anywhere for six pesos.
-->3 minute walk to an internet cafe where you can get a whole hour of internet for only 12 pesos (Less than 1 dollar) and printing is included.
-->12 minute walk to San Juan de Dios where you can choose from 100's of Mexican dishes. This location was fantastic food-wise!
-->10 minute walk east on Lopez Cotilla to money exchange services and gold and silver dealers.
Lastly but definitely not least, there is Lucy. She was so incredibly helpful, she was better than any Concierge services I have received in Dallas, San Francisco, and Rio de Janerio. Her help saved me many lost hours wandering aimlessly around the city! She knows where to go for food, shopping, and sightseeing.
If anyone would like to contact me more about my stay, just drop me an email. (email hidden)
Have fun in Guadalajara!
Nice, well-appointed space, with cozy little rooms. The neighborhood is a bit dull, but you can walk or take the train to the more vibrant parts of the center. The hosts are very nice and took great care of us.
I enjoyed my stay at Olga Querida B&B. The staff was all wonderful, ESPECIALLY Lucy who was unbelievably helpful with everything, from helping me make a bus reservation, escorting me to the bus stop, waiting with me until the bus came AND telling the driver in Spanish to let me know when I came to my stop. I noticed she showed the same courtesy to all guests - very special, indeed! Of course, Taquito, her chihuahua asistant, was most helpful too! A short, but memorable stay in a great B&B!
Nice place near center of town with easy walk to historical area and downtown shopping,. I had a lovely room on the 2nd floor at the back of the building. Met Alejandro only once; however Lucy was there the entire time of my stay and she was terrific. Very helpful answering all of my questions and arranging transportation to and from the airport. It is a hostel besides a B and B and works best for someone who wants more people around than just staying at someone's home. I recommend it, especially if you want to meet other travelers.
Nice and clen
