  • This house is SHARED with at least one maybe two other individuals, it should not be qualified as personal/private entire home space...It did not CLEARLY state there would be other people with keys, coming in and out of the same living area, and sleeping in the house with you ...except in the small print at the bottom of her description area in *. We were told contact numbers an one was a long term renter, however it would have been nice to know the long term renter would BE THERE! The house was nice and would have been great without the strange unknown roommates we had to deal with. OH an the pool on site isnt able to be used by her air b n b guests, which also isnt mentioned, but you won't find that out until you get there and she's paid! Just an FYI so you wont be shocked when stranger walks in the kitchen late at night.. N not have to deal with what we had to!

    Response from Mary:

This house was occupied by only one mild mannered woman for the stay referenced - no one else. She lives downstairs, in a completely separate part of the house from the private loft booked for this stay as described in my listing. The guest (Brooke) had requested a two nights in the loft (said it was for her, husband and 2 kids who would be out all day at Sea World and "just need a place to sleep"). I told her I was out of the country at the time but would be happy to host. Knowing I was gone, she brought in other people who stayed in an additional empty guest room downstairs, not booked or paid for. My unsuspecting renter came home in the afternoon to a house full of people having a drinking party who demanded she leave (their anger at being caught was unleashed on her). The only strangers coming and going (and sleeping) in my home were those Brooke brought in. In regard to the pool, there was a change in the Home Owner policy shortly before Brooke's arrival which occurred while I was out of the country. I provided info on the change and an offer to pay for pool passes for a lovely pool 2 blocks away (I didn't go into detail prior as she said they were only there to sleep). I have since updated the pool info on my listing. I do my utmost to make guests comfortable and enjoy their stay and up until this experience have had no one leave without saying they were happy with their stay.

  • Great place from which to see SD. Mary was wonderful in setting it all up for us. Very comfortable accommodation, homely and relaxing. Definitely worth a stay.
    You will need a car.

  • I made a last minute request to stay at Mary's beautiful and comfortable home. Even though she was traveling abroad, she responded quickly. Communication with Mary was a breeze. She made herself available even though she was on a trip. When we had an issue with the pool entrance (because of a recent rule change at her community), she did her very best and tried extremely hard to resolve the issue for us, giving us several options to consider.
The accomodations were comfortable and spacious. The home was clean and the neighborhood was safe. I enjoyed sitting on the patio and the kitchen was a great place to start our mornings before exploring San Diego.
I would highly recommed staying at Mary's property if you have a car and don't mind a 15-20 minute ride to get into the city.
There is another person staying in a room on the first floor, but we never saw her. We only heard her in the mornings as she probably was getting ready for work.
    Great airbnb spot!

  • Great location. Close to shopping centers/downtown and the beach. This was our daily commute for the during our stay. The loft had ample room to accommodate everyone. Will definitely book again if I go back to San Diego.

I love to travel and have done a lot, so it's fun for me to host and meet people coming to visit our beautiful city. I'm a graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU) and fell in love with the city when I came down here for school - basically lived here majority of time since (don't ask how long ago that was - ha). I have lived in and visited other countries and know what it's like to be a guest; I try to be sensitive to traveller's needs. I am also very understanding of kids and have two of my own, so your kids are welcome. I've been having a great time with Airbnb - come on over for a visit!
