The Space

PLEASE NOTE-In order to accommodate you or your group appropriately, we will need additional information. For example, your group may not fit in one room, you may wish to occupy more than one room or a level of the home.

Charges vary by number of persons, space, room/s, weekends/special holidays or events and length of stay.

(Longer stays of 2 weeks or more are Welcome!)

My apologies but it is difficult to address each and every possibility we can provide so the site calculator and/or calendar will NOT be correct.

Please verify availability and rates with the host prior to booking.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance in providing you a memorable vacation and stay.

This home has 4 levels, 3 separate apartments, multiple rooms and a variety of accommodations available for different budgets and needs along with a full size bathroom on each level for our guests comfort and convenience.

As hosts, we typically remain on the property full time and operate as a hostel and/or dormitory style environment. The entire home is not typically available March thru October when we cannot tear ourselves away from this amazing city!

We welcome you to respectfully enjoy our home as if it were your own, with access to the living areas, decks, eat in kitchens, etc.

Great location with easy access to all Chicago area attractions; like Navy Pier, Michigan Ave, Second City, Cubs games and so much more! Walking distance to wonderful restaurants in the Southport Corridor, Lincoln Ave and Wrigleyville. Easy access to #9 bus and Addison Red (24/7) and Brown line trains.

Our AirBNB experience was amazingly helpful when we moved here to Chicago and we would like to return the hospitality. We love this city and would like to share the great things we have learned about the area.

Our spacious home will easily accommodate the single traveler or a couple in this semi-private alcove. The space is located just off of the main living room and blocked with privacy screens. We can provide 2 twin air mattresses or 1 Queen. We have cable tv and internet that you are welcome to use, however, the space is best served for the busy traveler looking for a safe and clean place to stay while seeing the sites.

*Smoking is permitted on the rear deck only!!

**Parking-this neighborhood has free non permitted parking which is relatively available except during Cubs games. We provide free parking passes for our guests on game nites. If you would like an in and out covered parking space, we do have one available for $25 per day which is a reasonable price for this City. The parking for hotels per nite is $25 to $50 per day!

***Wish to maintain your workout while away? XSport Fitness is nearby and offers daily guest passes for $20 or weekly guest passes for $45.

    Response from Chris And Stephanie:

We have a true affinity for French guests thanks to our fantastic first Airbnb guest so when this group contacted us during one of the busiest weeks of the year in Chicago-The Restaurant Show-we wished to do our best to accommodate them. We did have some minor communication struggles so our interaction was sadly a bit limited but always pleasant. Unfortunately, Chicago was still experiencing winter weather when they arrived and although they weren't prepared for it, we had our extra jackets, coats, hats, gloves and scarves to loan:) Just toward the end of their trip, it warmed up a bit and they were able to enjoy some relaxing time out on the decks.

  • I had stayed with Chris and Stephanie before and knew what to expect. I brought my daughter on a college hunting extravaganza. Well as before this is the place to find yourself. We managed to even go out to dinner and a show. I just can't say enough. Oh and Chris's beef jerky is out of this world. Give Penny some hugs and be well. I look forward to my next trip.

  • Renting from Chris and Stephanie in the past, I knew that my experience would be a great one. They're always very friendly, helpful, and make sure their guests are welcome and comfortable.

Chris was even nice enough to help dig my car out of the snow when it was time for me to leave!

Matt and Micheal were a last minute request for a 3 nite stay during the Pitchfork Music Festival which turned out to be one of the busiest weekends of the summer. These guys are the kind of guests who make hosting a true pleasure for us. Super easy going, flexible, kind, considerate and interesting to talk to over a quick cup of coffee before heading out for their days explorations. We appreciate them pointing out that our place is very clean and organized. We work very hard to make our guests comfortable. Your stay is important to us:)

  • I had a wonderful experience at Chris and Stephanie's place. They were more than gracious and capable hosts, the were also diligently friendly throughout my 5 day stay. I spent 3 days in their quiet private bedroom, and 2 nights in the "shared space," which was an air mattress placed behind a set of dividers.

This place was comfortable, and entirely worth the $40 or so dollars per night. It made my trip to Chicago both possible and productive.

The coffee was great, the bagels were edible, and my overall stay was fantastic. I will stay with Chris and Stephanie next time I am in town.

Our experience with Emily was one of the most courteous and considerate from beginning to finish. We especially appreciated her initial reply email telling us about herself, her trip and most importantly how she would feel comfortable being hosted. This made it all very easy for us to know how to properly accommodate her during her stay with us. She was super flexible and easy going. Most of all we thank her for her willingness to give up her private room to a family traveling together for the shared space on the weekend:)

  • Beware address change! We tried to find a nice neighborhood for our cousin from overseas and got tripped up by the Willow address in Lincoln Park which was displayed prominently in order to get our attention. Actual address turned out to be a basement room off Ashland 3.5 miles North. Real shame.

  • The address was different than the one advertised. It was still a nice place, but it would have been nice to have been told that before, since I had done some work on the internet assuming the false address. The place was really clean and cosy. There is a little dog.

  • I had a great stay and would recommend staying at Chris & Stephanie's to my friends! They were very flexible about arrival and departure (even when I got there hours early and before 8 a.m.). The apartment was clean and very comfortable. The location was perfect for me - there's several trains within walking distance so most of Chicago is easily accessible. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Chicago!

  • Easygoing stay nothing special but owners very helpful. Not good for fancy people, basic expectation.

Hello Fellow Traveler! We welcome you to our Airbnb listing and appreciate that you wish to learn more about us as your potential hosts. We enjoy meeting new people and look forward to sharing with you what we love about Chicago:) Why have we opened our home? We arrived about 3 summers ago for a 3 day business trip, fell in love with Chicago and never left. This is our 3rd summer! Since we are both adventurous spirits, with some trepidation, we tried this thing called "AirBNB". We had such a great experience because of our host; we thought we would pay it forward. What has been our favorite experience hosting so far? Lollapalooza:) Who are we? Chris and I met in High School and reconnected on the site that begins with Face and ends with Book a couple of years ago. We think we have quite the love story that resulted in a proposal a few years back and would be happy to share it with you on one of your relaxing evenings on our deck or over a cup coffee while you are sorting out your travels for the day-but we promise not to bore you with it! What are we doing here? After we reunited, we had the amazing opportunity to become Environmental Stewards for a wonderful company that brought us to Chicago. One of our company's core values is to stimulate the local economy, find other Environmental Stewards like ourselves and train them for leadership roles. (Another great story if you are out of sorts from your trip and can't sleep one nite-and of course care to hear it:) ) What we think about ourselves as hosts? We pride ourselves in being open and available hosts for a chat, a recommendation, throwing darts, a game of scrabble or an impromptu cook out or s'mores on the fire pit but we also completely respect your privacy and understand this is your trip. We only wish to ensure your travels are more than you would have hoped for thru spending time at our home and meeting other guests. Where have we been? Chris is an Army Brat and has lived all over the States and I have traveled around Europe while living in Madrid, Spain for 3 years. Places Chris has lived: He spent his youth in San Antonio, Hawaii, Denver, Colorado Springs and Maryland (the DC area). As an adult, he lived in Kansas City for a bit, he settled for many years in Norman, Oklahoma (if you've heard of it), Dallas/Ft. Worth, back to Maryland (to get me;)) and now Chicago. Places Chris has traveled to: Boston and other parts of Massachusetts in which he has tons of family and for our business, all over New Jersey (our company has a HUGE presence there and helped tremendously with the Hurricane Sandy clean up), many parts of PA (we really enjoyed our time in Pittsburgh), Philly a few times (best sandwiches we have found yet!) and many more. Stephanie lived most of her life in the Maryland area traveling for work in the DC and Virginia areas but joining her friends on their business trips in the States to visit as many cities as possible. Of course, the fun-damentals like Las Vegas, Miami Beach (along with many other Florida cities that my family lives such as Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Jacksonville) and NYC. More relaxing fun in Savannah, GA; Myrtle Beach, SC (where my mom has retired), Portland, OR, Phoenix, AZ (where my brother used to live), San Diego and Coronado (a couple of times since they are some of my favorite), Hawaii (to see the first grandchild in our family), L.A. (had the opportunity to cruise Monterey's 17 mile drive)... Stephanie's European Travels: Of course many of the big cities like Paris (the food!), Munich (best airport ever!), Frankfurt, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Malaga, Bilbao, Gothenburg, Sweden (for a dear friends wedding), but also some off of the beaten path that became my very favorite memories like Morocco, Tunisia and more.... Places we will go: Brazil, Fiji, South America, Canada....
